Is 'DTF St. Louis' ending soon? Floyd’s killer remains at large as Tiger Tiger's identity is revealed
'DTF St. Louis' is heading towards an epic conclusion. The show consists of seven episodes in total, six of which have already aired. The title focuses on the murder of Floyd Smernitch (David Harbour), with each episode surprising the audience with its mind-blowing twists. As the story moves forward, viewers get hooked on the intriguing life of this adorable character living in St. Louis. He is embroiled in a passionate love triangle with his wife, Carol, and co-worker, Clark. The detectives associated with the case speculate that this messy love triangle, in which the other two parties appear to love Floyd the most, is the reason for his murder. Whether their suspicion is true or not will be revealed in the final episode when it airs on Sunday on HBO and HBO Max at 9 p.m. ET.
Apart from the murder mystery, the show also has another riveting question at the forefront. Floyd is an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter who claims that his venture into the world of ASL is somewhat connected to Peyronie's disease, a condition he was diagnosed with. As per Mayo Clinic, Peyronie's disease develops due to the presence of scar tissue in the deeper tissues under the penis's skin. This condition may lead to a curvature of the penis or even painful erections. The condition impacts sexual performance, which Floyd suffers from in the show. It is this condition that encourages him to become part of the bizarre love triangle, where he mostly remains an observer. However, the connection between this condition and learning ASL is yet to be revealed, making the finale a highly anticipated one.
Episode 6 essentially focuses on the uncanny friendship between Clark and Floyd. They are both Carol's love interests, but seem to be more drawn to each other emotionally. The episode reveals the true identity of 'Tiger Tiger,' the person Floyd interacted with regularly on an online dating site. It turns out Clark created the profile to boost Floyd's confidence. After his diagnosis, Floyd felt that he was becoming socially invisible and 'Tiger Tiger' was Clark's way of showing him that was not the case. Things go south when Floyd decides to meet his new friend. Clark quickly hires someone to play the part, and after seeing Floyd in real life, the individual rejects the proposition. Floyd catches Clark talking with the fake 'Tiger Tiger' and soon realizes the truth.
The revelation leaves Floyd in a worse place than before, causing his self-esteem to take an even further nosedive. Detectives become more confused after the confession, as this rules out their assumption that Floyd visited the pool where he was eventually found dead, to meet 'Tiger Tiger,' since he already knew about the online friend being Clark. The final episode, set to air on April 12, will finally reveal who put an end to the beacon of light that was Floyd and how his Peyronie's disease connects to ASL.
