'When I was the Most Beautiful' Episode 12 promo sees Ye-ji promise Jin she won’t forgive him after betrayal
After being tied down to his wheelchair for seven years after an injury caused by a car crash, Jin (Ha Seok-jin) in 'When I was the Most Beautiful' saw a sliver of hope in episode 11. He had been able to walk, just a bit and that was extremely painful and he believed that all of that was only possible because of Ye-ji (Lim Soo-hyang). However, towards the end of the last episode, we saw his ex-girlfriend Carie arrive at his home to ruin the moment of fleeting happiness. Jin had stayed in Monterey, California, under a false name aided by his ex-girlfriend.
She was the one who had helped him stay hidden from his family and after seven years of having Jin's attention all to herself, Carie is not ready to give up on him and even tells him that he belongs to her, that his life belongs to her. Of course, this shocks Ye-ji who had stayed alone all this time, waiting for him to return just believing the promise that he had made to her. All the doubts that he had cast on Ye-ji was a reflection of himself and not of her and that hits Ye-ji hard in the upcoming episode's promo because we see her promise to herself and to Jin that she would never forgive him for this.
Hwan (Ji Soo) is heartbroken after learning the truth as well and he tries his best to keep Ye-ji company at this time. She had cut off completely from him for attempting to cross a line and tempting her, costing her the only friend she had had while his brother had been living with his ex-girlfriend -- all while his family was suffering extremely, unable to figure out if he had died or lived. Especially Hwan had suffered the most as he looked at dead bodies day in and day out the last seven years to find some clue regarding his brother.
However, all this while, Jin had ignored everything that his family had to go through and he continues to ignore how much his brother had to go through in his absence as he continues to taunt Hwan about his lingering feelings for Ye-ji. Hwan had only recently decided that he would give a relationship with Amber a sincere chance and try to move on from Ye-ji. He did take the decision after his brother left home because of doubts regarding Ye-ji and Hwan's relationship. However, the minute he decided to do so, he had tried to focus on Amber. That is until Jin's betrayal surfaced and Ye-ji walked out after informing him that she will be the one to decide if she wants to be in this relationship or divorce Jin.
While Ye-ji says this, Jin asks Hwan if just because of this rough patch between him and his wife, if Hwan believes that he finally has a chance and hurts his brother further. Where are the three of them headed with such toxic dynamics surfacing recently?
'When I was Most Beautiful' will air on MBC on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9.30 pm KST. It will be available on Viu outside South Korea.
