Johnny Depp’s ex-girlfriend, Kate Moss is set to give her testimony in Johnny Depp’s defamation case with ex-wife Amber Heard on May 25, where she is reportedly going to discuss her relationship with the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star. 

Depp filed the lawsuit against Heard after she penned an op-ed in 2018 on her experience as a domestic abuse survivor, which the actor claims harmed his career. Heard brought up Moss and an alleged incident in which Depp allegedly pushed Moss down a stairway during her testimony earlier this month. Her mention of Moss gave Depp’s lawyer the chance to summon the British model as a witness in Johnny Depp’s defense.

How was Kate Moss’s relationship with Johnny Depp?

Between 1994 and 1997, Johnny Depp and Kate Moss started dating. Johnny Depp and Kate Moss met at a New York City cafe called Tabac in 1994, a year after he divorced Winona Ryder. At the time, Moss was 20 and Depp was 31, and they were introduced by a Vanity Fair journalist George Wayne. According to People, Kate once stated, “I knew from the first moment we talked that we were going to be together.” 

The couple became instant media darlings after making their relationship public, receiving a lot of attention. Throughout their relationship, they were known to obsess over each other. According to a source close to Johnny Depp told People, the two were ‘all over one other.’ “They can’t keep their hands, lips, mouths, legs off of each other,” the insider added at that time. 

Why did Johnny Depp and Kate Moss split?
After three years together, the pair separated, with Depp claiming their demanding work schedules as the cause for their breakup. However, according to The New York Post, the pair had a fight at a hotel on St. Mark's in New York City, and the star trashed their hotel room. When the cops came, they discovered Johnny being allegedly intoxicated. While it's unclear whether Kate was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time, she claims to have gotten away without any injury. Depp later told Hello about the incident, “I have never got that emotional over a woman before. I have been so stupid because we had so much going for our relationship. I’m the one who has to take responsibility for what happened – I was difficult to get on with, I let my work get in the way and I didn’t give her the attention I should have done.”

“The whole thing was crazy because I should never have got so worked up over what people had to say about my work. Sure I should care about my movies, but when I get home I should try to leave that stuff behind. I couldn’t do that and it was horrific to live with. Trust me, I’m a total moron at times,” he added at the time. Meanwhile, Moss said that she has always adored the actor and stated that it took her 'years' to get over their romance. She told Vanity Fair in 2012, “There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. Like if I said, “What do I do?” he’d tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!” 

Apart from Johnny Depp, Kate Moss has been in a few other long-term relationships. She dated Jefferson Hack, the editor of 'Dazed & Confused' magazine, during the 2000s. Moss dated Pete Doherty from 2005 until 2007. She also married Jamie Hince, a guitarist from 'The Kills,' in 2011 but their marriage ended in divorce four years later. Moss also dated German aristocrat Count Nikolai von Bismarck.
