LAKE AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan is facing the heat again, this time for making remarks about the bald eagle, the country's official emblem, on Thursday, February 23. Rogan, 55, said that he felt "funny" about the bald eagle being the bird that represents America.

The comedian hosts a semi-regular section on 'The Joe Rogan Experience' called 'Protect Our Parks', which he has previously described as a chance for him and his guests to "talk s**t." The seventh 'Protect Our Parks' episode, which aired on Thursday, featured conversations with Shane Gillis, Ari Shaffir and Mark Normand. The comedians made light of the fact that China frequently leases pandas to American zoos and mentioned how the animal was connected to the nation. Rogan said at that point, "If there's an animal that represents America, it's funny that it's an eagle."

'Didn't it used to be a dog?'

Rogan then went on to describe the bird, saying, "Because eagles are - it's kind of a f*****g soulless, evil creature. That likes to eat dead fish." Gillis, who was sacked by 'Saturday Night Live' shortly after being recruited due to past tweets, added, "[Benjamin] Franklin was right. We should've had a turkey."

"Didn't it used to be a dog?" Rogan responded, adding, "I think at one point in time was the dog. It was like a pit bull." He asked his producer Jamie Vernon, "Is that true? That America's national animals was a pitbull at one point in time?" Later, making light of the situation by mentioning the rapper Pitbull, Normand remarked, "It's just the rapper."

'What was his choice? River otter'

Many people were clearly outraged by these conversations, as some resorted to Twitter to express their views. One person wrote, "WOW, that’s a 'slap' in the face of the symbol of America !!!" Another person wrote, "Isn't that what people say about him?"

A third person wrote, "He voted for an evil soulless creature to represent our country. Twice." Another person jokingly wrote, "What was his choice? River otter." This other person wrote, "This dude seem a bit unpatriotic. Or just says any crap to be controversial and grab a headline for money." Another individual wrote, "I’m guessing he hates Lions too."
