What is Mo'Nique's net worth? Oscar winner settles racial discrimination lawsuit with Netflix
Netflix has finally settled a lawsuit from Mo’Nique, who sued the streaming giant for giving her a ridiculously low offer for a comedy special, claiming it was one of the examples of how Netflix discriminates against Black women.
The court papers suggest that both parties moved to dismiss the suit. However, no further details of the settlement have been disclosed. It all began in 2017 when Netflix approached Mo’Nique for a comedy special, but the negotiations didn’t go far because the actress was not comfortable in doing the special for just $500,000. The streaming platform would have had all the control over the special, including the copyright and retaining all audio-only rights to the special. Mo’Nique believed that the offer was discriminatory and that’s when Netflix walked away from the negotiations.
