Percy Robert Miller, commonly known by his stage name Master P, plans to buy the once-prodigious shoe brand Reebok. Together with his partner former NBA All-Star Baron Davis, the entrepreneurial pair are in talks with Reebok's parent company Adidas. The brand is reportedly on sale for around $2.4billion.

Master P spoke of the negotiations with ESPN, saying, "These companies have been benefiting off us, this could be history for this company going Black-owned." He then noted that he and Davis are financially prepared after two months of talks with Adidas.

"Imagine if Michael Jordan owned Reebok? That’s what I’m talking about making history," Master P said. "As we focus on turning Reebok into a lifestyle brand not just a basketball brand, our most important initiative will be to put money back into the community that built this company."

According to Forbes, Davis said, "I think Reebok is being undervalued." He continued, "I left Nike as a 22-year-old kid representing myself and made the jump to Reebok, which took a chance on me as a creative and as an athlete," adding, "I want the people I know athletes, influencers, designers, celebs to sit at the table with me."

Career

With an impressive resume of being a rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, actor and former basketball player, Master P's success as a whole cannot be tethered to one career. As a producer, he is the founder of the pioneering record label No Limit Records, which is considered one of the most successful independent record labels of all time. The label was relaunched as New No Limit Records through Universal Records and Koch Records, then again as Guttar Music Entertainment, and currently, No Limit Forever Records.

As an artiste, his first-ever release was the 1990 EP 'Mind of a Psychopath', which was released under the name TRU (The Real Untouchables), a supergroup with his brothers C-Murder and Silkk the Shocker. The following year would see him releasing his debut studio album, 'Get Away Clean', but after several more solo LPs and collaborations with TRU, his music career grew in the underground gangsta rap scene. During his initial fame in the mid-'90s, Master P released his fifth solo rap album 'Ice Cream Man'.

A year later, he released the triple-platinum 'Ghetto D', which features his best-known track, 'Make 'Em Say Uhh!' Albums that followed would achieve impressive heights such as fast sales, a number-one spot on Billboard charts and more. Master P went on to collaborate, record and tour, releasing mixtapes every year. His discography has a total of 15 studio albums as a solo artiste, six with TRU, and three with a hip-hop group led by Master P, named 504 Boyz.

By the late '90s, Master P built an eclectic business empire that included several rap labels, a clothing line, a management company, a high-end travel agency, a film production company, a video game company and a phone sex line thrown in for good measure.

Net worth

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Master P's total wealth is an accumulative value of $200 million. While living in Oakland, California, (where he studied business at Merrit Junior College) he inherited $10,000 after the death of his grandfather. With the money, he started a record store which later turned into the label No Limit Records. In 1998 alone, Master P's label released 23 albums and sold 15 million copies, earning over $160 million.

Master P is also a real estate mogul: the owner of PM Properties where he currently owns over 30 properties across the country. Unknown to many, Master P stretched his empire into the $550 billion snack industry.

In 2017, he partnered with James Lindsay, creator of Rap Snacks, the chip brand that features Hip Hop stars on its packaging. The effort came as a relaunch of the company with two of their most popular flavors Migos’ Sour Cream with a Dab of Ranch and Cardi B’s Cheddar BBQ. Rap Snacks is sold in over 4,000 Wal-Mart stores nationwide.
