What is 'Chokehold' about? Plot of Netflix Turkish thriller drama explained
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Chokehold,' Netflix's upcoming mystery and thriller drama (also known as ‘Boga Boga’) is about an Istanbul couple who seek solace and finally settle in an Aegean village, only to find out that they are surrounded by opposing forces and must navigate an unsafe and hostile setting to safeguard themselves.
Onur Saylak directed the Turkish thriller, which was written by Hakan Gunday and produced by Ay Yapm. The film will have its world premiere at the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival, which will be held from April 7 to 18, 2023, and the thriller was also selected to compete in the National Competition section of the festival. Kivanc Tatlitug and Funda Eryigit star in titular roles in the movie.

What is the plot of ‘Chokehold’?
'Chokehold' follows the story of an Istanbul couple, Yalin and Beyza, who move to a serene village in an Aegean region to start a new life, only to discover that the locals are not very open to the idea of accepting them as a part of their community. Yalin and Beyza face anger and enmity from the villagers and realize hostile individuals surround them.
When a man attacks Yalin, the attack reveals his true identity, resulting in a dangerous battle with the couple and the villagers. The Turkish Netflix film is an engrossing drama that explores themes of identity, conflict, and resilience, as well as the complexities of culture clash, discrimination, and the struggle to belong.
‘Chokehold’ will hit the screens of Netflix users across the world on April 21, 2023.
