Vince Staples returns with 'Ramona Park Broke My Heart,' his fifth studio album. The project, according to the Long Beach resident, is 'the story of growth' and is the follow-up to his self-titled debut in 2021. The 16-track project includes appearances from Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Baby, and Mustard.

After just being released on April 8, fans on social media rushed to the comment section of Vince’s Twitter post with reactions. One fan wrote, “He topped Summertime 06 with this. For sure his best album yet and I genuinely think this is a 10. Album of the year so far. #RPBMH” “I know it's early but ramona park broke my heart and is in the running for album of the year,” another user added. “Man dropped two albums and did a tour in a year. According to Complex, prior to the album's release, Staples sent a meaningful note on the album's inspiration. He stated, “I am often told the lie that life is what you make it. For over a decade, most of my work has been an anthology of what I believed to be home. Now I’ve realized that it reaches beyond location.”

“I have been exploring the utility of the home. Security. Comfort. Meaning. The answer. The excuse. To outgrow is to love blindly no longer. Ramona Park Broke My Heart is the story of that growth,” he added. Vince Staples also revealed that his last eponymous album and this one have a direct correlation with each other. He explained, “They were kind of created at the same time. I was in a similar state of mind. I’m still working through things and the questions that life poses. This album will make even more sense if you heard the previous one.”

Staples previously introduced the project with two singles. On Valentine's Day, the 28-year-old songwriter released 'Magic.' “I think it’ll put the listener in a good state of mind. The mood of it defines the project," he explained. Vince also previously revealed how one of the most talked-about incidents of the year so far served as the catalyst for the release of his current video. Just hours after the notorious slap, he tweeted, "Will Smith inspired me, man. Let me drop this video.”
