LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Al Roker is known for many things, and being ‘Today’s host is one of them. He is better known for his sense of humor than anything else because he makes people laugh, on-air and off-air. Normally, people love Roker’s jokes, no matter how quirky, but looks like they might not be everyone’s cup of tea. As Roker presented his usual self on ‘Today', co-host Hoda Kotb didn’t seem too pleased with it.

Roker has a way of presenting himself on the ‘Today’ show and he is often unapologetic about it, and this time around, it didn’t sit right with Kotb. At first, she decided to let it slide but after Carson Daly couldn’t get over the joke and stop laughing, Kotb decided to point it out. Read on to know what caused this little tiff between the co-hosts.

Why was Hoda Kotb upset with Al Roker?

Daly’s Pop segment is all about the latest news revolving around favorite movies, shows, celebrities, musicians, and everything pop culture. Of course, the biggest news during Wednesday’s segment was ‘Superman: Legacy’s official casting. David Corenswet had replaced Henry Cavill as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan would be joining him as Lois Lane. Daly made the announcement and said, “The new Superman flick is expected to take a deep dive into the iconic comic book character’s origin story.” The co-hosts seemed thrilled and Roker simply couldn’t help himself as he joked, “His cousin is Meatswet.” His joke was a play on Corenswet’s name and Daly couldn’t get the joke out of his mind.

Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, and Kotb on the other hand didn’t seem to find this joke funny in the slightest. Kotb looked annoyed for most of it. As Kotb was about to say something to Roker, Daly moved on to the next part of his segment about Lizzo.

Daly couldn’t get over Roker’s joke as he mentioned it again after narrating Lizzo’s Instagram post. He said, “Your meat sweats didn’t even ruin that moment.” Roker seemed more than pleased with himself and his joke, which is when Kotb decided to speak up.

‘Because I can!’

Kotb finally had a chance to say something as she looked over at Roker and asked, “Why did you do that?” Kotb tried to sound as relaxed as possible and Roker responded with a smile and shrug, “Why did I do that? I don’t know, because I can.”

Roker repeated his joke and said, “Corenswet. Meatswet.” Kotb might not have appreciated Roker’s sense of humor, but there’s no doubt that his fans surely will,l just like Daly did. After this, Daly moved on to the next parts of his segment which were about ‘Barbie’ and the Backstreet Boys, but that Roker joke stayed fresh.
