‘What a special moment’: King Charles ‘looks emotional’ as Prince William pledges his loyalty
LONDON, UK: King Charles had a special moment with his eldest son, Prince William, during the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The historic crowning happened seventy years after the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth II. During the service, Prince William also played a vital role as he pledged his loyalty to the King.
Body language expert Carole Railton revealed to FEMAIL, “When William was in front of him he looked emotional to me. He is blinking a lot, showing a bit of stress for sure...He also appears tired and the previous deep breath gives notice that he is refreshing his self getting back in step.”

“He sat on the edge of his seat, showing that he is excited about what is going on even thrilled,” Railton added. As per reports, the Prince of Wales, who is next in line to the British throne, said in his tribute to his father, “I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my loyalty to you and faith and truth I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb. So help me God.” The 40-year-old also went on to touch the crown before planting a kiss on the monarch’s cheek, which left him touched as he added, “Amen”.
Besides, King Charles also recited a prayer, “God of compassion and mercy whose son was sent not to be served but to serve, give grace that I may find in thy service perfect freedom and in that freedom knowledge of thy truth. Grant that I may be a blessing to all thy children, of every faith and belief, that together we may discover the ways of gentleness and be led into the paths of peace; through Jesus Christ our lord. Amen.”

According to Buckingham Palace, “For almost a thousand years, Coronations have been held at Westminster Abbey, and the Order of Service draws on this long tradition, centered around the liturgical theme of ‘Called to Serve’ and The King’s solemn vow and commitment to serve God, and the people of the nations and the realms.”
“After the Coronation Service, at the Great West Door, The King will be greeted by five faith leaders, and Governors-General from the Realms. Their Majesties will then depart Westminster Abbey in the Gold State Coach for Buckingham Palace,” it adds.
