Were Prince William and Kate Middleton BOOED at Celtics game? Here's what really happened
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTES: The Prince and Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat game on Wednesday night, November 30. William and Kate joined the more than 20,000 basketfall fans at the TD Garden stadium, where they were received by Wycliffe “Wyc” Grousbeck, owner of the Boston Celtics. They sat courtside along with Governor-elect Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu during the duration of the game.
William and Kate, who are reportedly on a US tour to promote the Earthshot Prize awards, were allegedly booed by fans when the royal couple was introduced by a stadium announcer and shown on the jumbotron. However, that pair reportedly kept their royal calm and donned a brave face for the game while fans continued to boo at them.

The unimpressed reactions from basketfall fans comes after William's godmother Lady Susan Hussey was accused of making racist comments to Ngozi Fulani, a domestic violence activist, during a Buckingham Palace charity event. A witness saw Fulani being "interrogated" during the Palace event and is calling for a "culture change" within the monarchy. According to The Sun, Mandu Reid, leader of the Women's Equality Party, was next to Sistah Space founder Fulani at the event hosted by Queen Consort Camilla on Tuesday when she overheard the longstanding Palace aide challenge the British-born charity worker saying, "Where do your people come from?"
Lady Hussey is said to have quizzed Fulani over her nationality at the charity event which was held to mark the UN’s 16 days of activism against gender-based violence. Reportedly Ngozi was horrified when Lady Susan approached her, moved her hair to see her name badge and asked, “Where do your people come from?” reported the source. She repeatedly questioned what part of Africa she was from and when she first came to the UK, Ngozi claims. The royal staffer has allegedly resigned after claims of racism.
During the second quarter with the game tied at 47, the royal couple witnessed the Celtics' long-standing tradition of recognizing a 'Hero Among US' - individuals who are working positively to make an impact in the community. Furthermore, Boston Celtics beat Miami Heat in the game. Royal aides suggested that the royal couple would depart after the third quarter of the game, but they decided to stay until the end, bidding goodbye and shaking hands with fans as they left.
