Fired Wendy Williams BEGS celeb friends to BOYCOTT rival Sherri Shepherd's show
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Talk show host, Wendy Williams is reported to have approached her famous celeb friends, asking them to boycott her rival, Sherri Shepherd's new show which will premier in September 2022. Wendy's show was canceled after her erratic and bizarre behavior as well as her health issues. Sherri, who had filled in as a temporary host for several episodes of Wendy's show has also repeatedly mentioned that this new show will be much more "friendly" to guests and viewers than its predecessor.
The former Queen of Daytime TV hosted her titular talk show: 'The Wendy Williams Show' over a staggering period of 14 years after the first episode aired in 2008. Since then, the show had garnered a loyal viewership, making it one of the most popular and profitable syndicated talk shows. After 13 seasons and more than 1500 episodes, the final episode aired on June 17, 2022.

According to The Sun, Wendy, 58, has petitioned her friends, from movie actors to reality TV stars, requesting them to not attend or promote Sherri's show after it launches in September. Earlier, American TV host, Nick Cannon had supported Wendy, following the cancellation of his own show. He had also mentioned that he would not endorse Sherri "out of allegiance to Wendy." But does Cannon's stand even count when he too, has lost his show?
Referring to Cannon's support, the 58-year-old has said that since he is not going to be supporting Sherri, no one else should either. Scouring her loyal supporters, Wendy has also allegedly spoken to several 'Real Housewives' stars too. However, the source reports that "no one is going to turn Sherri down."
Wendy's health issues range from Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism to her struggles with sobriety. She had entered rehab for the latter, following her separation from her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter. Since then, she has often been spotted in various locations, exhibiting puzzling behavior that sparked concern among her fans.
On the flip side, Sherri and her team are vigorously involved in the preparation of their upcoming show's debut next month on September 12, 2022. Earlier, the comedian had taken a dig at her predecessor, saying that her show will be " all about positive energy" as she is "not a mean person" and that "It will be a celebrity-friendly zone on Sherri." The show will be shot in front of a live audience at New York's Chelsea Studios.
