'Welcome Miss Opal': Kaley Cuoco and BF Tom Pelphrey adopt rescue dog before baby's arrival
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A new furry member has joined Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey's expanding family. On March 2, the 'The Flight Attendant' actress shared on her Instagram Story that she and her boyfriend had adopted a puppy in preparation for the birth of their daughter.
"We did a thing ... again. Welcome Miss Opal (little widdle girl) into our growing family," Cuoco, 37, wrote along with a photo of her snuggling with her new pup. Thank you @deityanimalrescue and an amazing foster @thisisdarragh for bringing this angel to us!" she continued.

'The Big Bang Theory' alum showcased her chihuahua's lively nature in a number of pictures and videos that she shared on her Instagram Stories, "She's hilarious and already torturing every dog in this house." On a video of Opal hitting her sibling, Cuoco commented, "Leave him alone. Sorry, Dumpy. I'm so sorry, she's so crazy."
"She's obsessed with her biggest brother too," Cuoco commented alongside another clip of Opal and his older sibling. She captioned a picture of the two canines cuddling together in a ball on their dog bed, "She won't leave him alone him LOL. Another video showing her dogs exploring the backyard, with Opal in charge of the group, was captioned, "Thinks she runs the backyard already LOL," by Cuoco.
Photos of Opal and her boyfriend, who is "now obsessed" with their new chihuahua, were also posted by Cuoco. "@tommypelphrey didn't know he was a little chi lover and he is now obsessed and nothing makes me happier," she wrote on a photo of Pelphrey, 40, snuggling with Opal. Cuoco commented, "Adopt don't shop ever!!" over a clip of Pelphrey and their rescue dog having fun together. The actress shared several more pictures of Opal and her other dogs along with a cute selfie she and her boyfriend took with their chihuahuas, writing, "@adventurers_with_dumps trying to attack my face in protest of the new arrival."
Cuoco and Pelphrey await the birth of their first child
Along with all the pictures of the puppies, Cucoco and Pelphrey shared a kiss in a cute selfie that revealed a glimpse of Cucoco's baby bulge as the pair awaited the arrival of their baby girl. "Just 'cause I can't get enough of you," she captioned the picture, tagging Pelphrey.
Sources recently told PEOPLE that Cuoco feels Pelphrey will be a "hands-on dad," and she is eager to watch herself and Pelphrey develop into their new roles as first-time parents. "Kaley is comfortable about Tom as mate and father, comfortable about the big change the baby will have in their lives, and comfortable about her work," said the source. "They are preparing for the arrival which isn't far off. She is in a good place."
