'Was it Love?' Episode 1 ended on a shocking note for Ae-jeong. She was ecstatic after hearing back from a celebrated author who would like his story adapted into a film. His work has become a commodity of great value in the film industry and if Ae-jeong gets the ball rolling on his story, she might be able to get out of the huge loan that she now has to pay because she was conned into signing surety for her boss. What she is unaware of, however, is that this mysterious author is someone that she had known in the past.

This man used to go to the same college that Ae-jeong had been to and is someone that she doesn't seem too comfortable meeting again. The promo hints at how their fates had intertwined in the past when the now celebrated author used to be a student who had gotten insanely drunk at one of the university parties that Ae-jeong had been to. It also seems like the very drunk man had tried to plant a kiss on Ae-jeong. How did that work out? We might see that in the upcoming episode.

The promo also hints at Ae-jeong's senior Ryyu-jin who is also a celebrated actor in the present has finally figured out that she had come in search of him. He runs out of what looks like an apartment building in the promo and is seen looking for someone. He looks extremely troubled; but if he is as close to Ae-jeong as this scene indicates, he might just end up signing up for the film to play a lead role himself.

Another important detail that the promo reveals is that the gangster who had given Ae-jeong's boss the money knows her from the past. He seems to have met her before and this could be one of the reasons why he did agree to become an investor in the film that she wanted to make. His idea was to get the celebrated author to do a narration while the lead role gets played by none other than the top Hangul star Ryu-jin.

Something seems to have occurred at Ae-jeong's home because we see Ha-nee chance upon what looks like her mother's journal or something that gives her an hint as to the existence of a love interest in her mother's life. If she did manage to find the man who got her mother pregnant, wouldn't she get to meet her father? This is probably what Ha-nee hopes for. However, she doesn't seem to understand that her father might have just abandoned both her and her mother.

New episodes of 'Was it Love?' will air on JTBC at 9.30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursday and will be available to stream on Netflix.
