'Warrior'. Season 2 Episode 1 will see how Ah Sahm adapts back into Hop Wei even as Mai Ling waits for retaliation
At the end of 'Warrior' Season 1, a lot had gone down in the Tongs. Mai Ling had killed the Long Zii head, her brother Ah Sahm (Andrew Kohji) threw a fight when he was chosen as the representative of the Hop Wei Tong in a fight against Mai Ling's (Dianne Doan) Tong and decided to retire to the netherworld of working-class Chinese immigrants and also tries to bury his warrior roots.
It is Ah Toy (Olivia Cheng) who helps Ah Sahm find a semblance of sense amid all the chaos that has broken into the Tongs as the result of retaliation that the Tongs face from the local government. So what happens now? Will Ah Sahm be able to forgive his sister who manipulated him and pushed him to lose the fight or can we expect Ah Sahm to fight for Hop Wei and exact revenge for the way his sister treated him?
The official synopsis released by Cinemax regarding 'Warrior' Season 2 Episode 1 is as follows. "Back with the Hop Wei, Ah Sahm spends his nights at the Barbary Coast fight pit, confronting a new anti-Chinese group, Teddy's Boys. While Ah Toy accuses him of just looking for another fight, an empowered Mai Ling worries about her brother's next steps."
"Meanwhile, Bill finds it hard to break out of his role as the enforcer for Zing; Penny is determined to continue running Mercer Steel, much to Blake's dismay; and Chao offers Ah Sahm some advice for his future with Young Jun." it added.
The official synopsis indicates that the episode will see Ah Sahm not only return to his Tong but that there might be tension between him and Young Jun (Jason Tobin) after the stunt that he pulled in the past. What kind of advice would Chao (Hoon Lee) provide Ah Sahm and will this help smoothen things out between the two men who until not too long ago were like brothers?
There is also the matter of Penny. Sure, Ah Sahm had been in love with Penny in the previous season by the end of this relationship was also portrayed as well. Considering how she has taken over her father's business against her husband's wishes, can she really succeed or will there be an opportunity for her to depend on Ah Sahm again? After all, their relationship in Season 1 began with her depending on him to erase her loneliness and pay attention to her.
We cannot wait to see what the all-new season has to offer. 'Warrior' Season 2 episodes will be aired on Cinemax every Friday at 10 pm ET.
