Inside Jeffrey Dean Morgan and wife Hilarie Burton's decade-long romance as the duo hosts new AMC talk show
'Walking Dead' star Jeffrey Dean Morgan and wife Hilarie Burton have a new talk show amid the quarantine lockdown. The duo invited fans into their humble abode for a show titled 'Friday Night in With the Morgans' on AMC.
The show, hosted by Morgan and his wife, a former 'One Tree Hill' star started airing on the network on April 12. The talk show consists of 30-minute episodes that have been filmed at the duo's estate in New York and will showcase them talking about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A statement from AMC network representatives reads, “Each episode will have a free-flowing, raw feel featuring unfiltered conversation about how we’re all getting through this unprecedented moment, as this charismatic couple connect with friends, neighbors, animals and the broader community of fans. Each week they will come together for conversations about how they are handling life in quarantine, practically helping communities, finding joy and even humor in these unprecedented times, entertaining themselves, and others, while in isolation — all done via video chat.”
The couple shared their excitement as well, “From our home here at Mischief Farm, we look forward to shining a light on those who are doing good in the world, catching up with old friends and connecting with the awesome fan base we’ve gotten to know over the years." Morgan, who plays the most loved villain Negan on AMC's 'The Walking Dead' wed Burton last year - here's a look back on their sweet decade long relationship.
Sparks started to fly in 2009 courtesy of 'Supernatural' actor Jensen Ackles who had set up a double date with wife Danneel Ackles Morgan, and Burton. Morgan even spoke of the successful night out during an interview in 2015 with Huffington Post, saying, "I [got lit]. We all did. We ended up back at my house drinking shots of tequila." The rest of course, in most fairytales, was history and in 2010, Morgan and Burton made their debut as a couple on the red carpet.
Later in 2010, fans were overjoyed as the duo welcomed their first child, a sweet boy named Augustus Morgan. E! reported that a source had revealed to them that Burton "told friends about her pregnancy back in August [2009] after she had spent a lot of time with Jeffrey on location in New Mexico." As the couple continued to enjoy parenthood, in early 2014, the duo started to refer to each other as husband and wife, they had yet to have tied the knot and in 2017 there was more good news. At the Emmy Awards that year, papa Morgan hinted at a possible second baby on the way, which was later confirmed by the couple as Morgan revealed the duo were having a daughter.
In March 2018, baby George Virginia Morgan was welcomed to the world. Virginia was their miracle baby as Burton revealed that she had struggled to get pregnant the second time. “It took a long time for Jeffrey and I to have this baby. The first time I got pregnant, it took a year and a half,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “I surprised him on Christmas with baby Seahawk booties. We cried. We celebrated. We picked out names. And we lost that baby.” What bought the couple closer was that Morgan was the one who delivered both their children without the help of a doctor.
In October of 2019, Burton took to Instagram to announce the couple had tied the knot, saying, "I just want to put it out there that WE GOT MARRIED! For real. We've lived as husband and wife for a decade. We've built a family, and a farm and found our community. For years, publications have reported that we got married in 2014 or 2015 and that I've been married and divorced before. All untrue. But WE knew our truth. So it felt silly to try and correct anything."
There was more to her post as she wrote "From the moment I met @jeffreydeanmorgan, he was my husband. Rather than make vows right out of the gate, we lived them. For over ten years. The good times and the bad. Standing up there with our children at our sides - celebrating all that has been - was bliss."
Be sure to tune in to the Morgans, as they bring on big names onto their show such as actor/writer/director Mark Duplass and 'The Walking Dead; star Christian Serratos.
