Dave Grohl's daughter Violet Grohl sings at pre-Grammys party days after Taylor Hawkins death
Violet Grohl, Dave Grohl's daughter, grabbed the stage at a Pre-Grammys event. The 15-year-old wore all black to the MusiCares Person of the Year gala honoring Joni Mitchell on Friday, April 1. She was joined by her mother Jordyn Blum and sister Harper Grohl. The three posed on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Marquee Ballroom in Las Vegas for the event, which took place only days before the 64th annual Grammy Awards. Violet also sang a rendition of Mitchell's 'Help Me' to pay tribute to the iconic singer-songwriter. Meanwhile, Dave, the Foo Fighters vocalist, was absent from the family, as he continues to grieve the tragic loss of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Hawkins died on March 25 at the band's most recent tour stop in Bogota, Colombia, according to Foo Fighters. He was 50 years old at the time. The band published a statement confirming the drummer's tragic death, which read, "the Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time."
