'Vikings' Season 6 Episode 7 Preview: Lagertha gets an emotional farewell as the shieldmaiden's chapter ends
A big chapter of the 'Vikings' history ended with Lagertha's death. Though she didn't die like a warrior on the battlefield, she was an epitome of strength, valiance and courage.
Unfortunately, she dies in the darkness, hidden away in a corner of the town. And then Bjorn comes back to Kattegat after he lost the election to Harald. And as he discovers the heartbreaking news of his mother's death, it shatters him and makes his blood boil.
As the preview of Episode 7 shows, Bjorn will take an oath over his mother's dead body, as the entire town bids farewell to the mighty shieldmaiden and Vikings legend. But that is not where Lagertha's story will stop.
Bjorn, Ubbe, Torvi and Gunhild will all come together to pay respect to their hero by avenging her death, albeit with Bjorn taking the lead. This could mean a lot of things going forward.
Bjorn could get Hvitserk captured or killed or both. On the other side, Bjorn could wage a war against Harald, for being attacked after the election. Then there is also the angle of Ivar and Igor teaming up against Oleg. They have managed to flee Kievan Rus with Dir.
In Kattegat, Ubbe is now aware that Ivar is taking shelter in Kieven Rus with Prince Oleg, and it wouldn’t be longer than the Lothbrok brothers find their stepbrother and bring him to justice. But will they find Ivar who is already on the run?
Elsewhere, Harald is finding ways to attack Olaf and acquire all his lands, just for payback.
So, overall, the upcoming episode of 'Vikings' Season 5 promises a lot of emotional upheavals, drama, and high-octane action. Watch Bjorn Ironside bid farewell to his mother and the Vikings Queen, Lagertha -
