'Viena and the Fantomes' is an upcoming musical romance starring Dakota Fanning with Zoe Kravitz, Evan Rachel Wood and many others in supporting roles. The story revolves around a young roadie traveling with the Fantomes, an edgy post-punk band, as they tour America in the 1980s.

Plot

'Viena and the Fantomes' revolves around the titular Viena, played by Dakota Fanning and her journey of self-discovery and survival as she spends her time on the road with the band Fantomes. Recounting the experiences of many a young fan in the glory days of rock 'n' roll, the film takes us on a journey through Viena's exciting life as a roadie before things begin to spiral into wild concerts and parties, drug-induced hazes and a love triangle with between herself, a fellow roadie, and an unbalanced band member that threatens to set Viena on a dark path.

Cast

In addition to Fanning as Viena, Zoë Kravitz stars as a band manager. The cast also includes Evan Rachel Wood, Jon Bernthal, Jeremy Allen White, Caleb Landry Jones as Albert, Frank Dillane, Olivia Luccardi, Sarah Steele, and Philip Ettinger.

Fanning was most recently seen in 'Sweetness in the Belly'.  Fanning was also set to appear in 'The Nightingale', an adaptation of the bestselling novel name by Kristin Hannah and starring Fanning's sister Ella, but the movie has been delayed to Christmas 20201 on account of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Kravitz was last seen in the show 'High Fidelity', a reimagining of the novel of the same name by Nick Hornby which was previously adapted into a cult classic film starring John Cusack in 2000. Additionally, Kravitz has been cast as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the upcoming Batman film opposite Robert Pattinson. Kravitz previously voiced the same character in the 2017 film, 'The Lego Batman Movie'.

Showrunners

'Viena and the Fantomes' is directed and written by Gerardo Naranjo, known for his work on 2011's 'Miss Bala', 2008's 'I'm Gonna Explode', and 2002's 'The Last Attack of the Beast'.  Hunter Gray, Alex Orlovsky, and Christopher Ramirez served as producers on the film, with Will Patterson stepping in to handle the movie's music.
