'Utopia Falls': Release date, plot, cast and all you need to know about Hulu's sci-fi hip-hop TV series

With 'Utopia Falls', the network is presenting the first-ever sci-fi hip-hop television series. It deals with a couple of teens in a distant future who unravel an ancient mystery, which makes them question everything they have believed in, using the power of music.

Release date

All 10 episodes of 'Utopia Falls' will be available to watch on Hulu on February 14.

Plot

Set in a distant future, 24 teenagers are picked to compete in an annual musical competition in the last living colony called New Babyl. While for others the journey to unravel mystery serves as a chance to write their names in history, this becomes a life-changer for Aliyah when she stumbles upon hip-hop, an ancient form of music culture.

Cast

Robyn Alomar

Robyn Alomar essays Aliyah in 'Utopia Falls', an adventurous daughter to a government official. She is best known for her roles in 'Riot Girls' and 'Shadowhunters'.

Mickeey Nguyen

Mickeey Nguyen who plays Mags in 'Utopia Falls' is a Canadian actor-dancer-singer who came to be known for his roles as Alex Phan in 'Make it Pop'. He last appeared in YouTube sensation Lilly Singh's movie-documentary called 'A Trip to Unicron Island'.

Akiel Julien

Akiel Julien is a Canadian actor who is best known for playing the role of LaTroy in 'The Next Step'. He rose to fame on featuring in the YouTube premium show 'Wayne' as Gill. He will be seen as Bohdi in 'Utopia Falls'.

Creators/Showrunners

Hulu official site states that 'Utopia Falls' is from the creators of 'Find Me in Paris', but as per IMDb, the sci-fi musical is co-directed by RT Throne, Melanie Orr, Earren P Sonoda and Sudz Suterland.
