The second season of ‘Undercover’, Netflix’s Belgian-Dutch crime drama series is about to drop and it looks exciting. Season 2 picks up just after the events of season 1 focusing on a young undercover cop who infiltrates a powerful criminal organization and finds himself caught in a web of violence, treachery, and temptation.

Almost a year after the events of season 1, Kim (Anna Drijver) works for a human rights NGO. With the help of her former colleague Bob (Tom Waes), her investigation into illegal arms trade in Syria leads her to El Dorado Ranch, a horse riding ranch in the Belgian countryside. Bob goes undercover and tries to get into the good graces of the brothers Laurent and JP Berger, arms dealers.

Meanwhile from inside prison, Ferry Bouman (Frank Lammers) continues his search for the true identities of undercover agents Bob and Kim, while Bob’s teenage daughter Polly (Emma Verlinden) wants to find out for once and for all who her father really is.

The trailer for ‘Undercover’ Season 2 sets an exciting tone to the thriller series, promising some high-stakes tense situations and some high-octane action. But the show, more than its formulaic crime drama story and its slick visuals, owes its appeal to the actors. So, let’s take a look at the cast!

Waes is a Belgian television presenter, television director, actor, and singer. The 57-year-old was born on November 7, 1968, in Antwerp, Belgium. Waes wasn’t always on the screen. Before his television and film career, he worked for seven years on oil rigs as a deep-sea diver. After high school, Waes did a diving course in Scotland. The oil rigs career came after that.

Before he gained national (and international) fame, Waes appeared behind the camera for shows like ‘The Quizmaster’ and ‘The Last Show’. Almost a decade and a half ago, in 2005, Waes gained some fame and appreciation for his performance as the brother of Bart De Pauw in ‘Het Gender De Pauw’. Following that, he starred in ‘Offside’. The same year, he along with Koen Van Impe and Jan Van Looveren made the comedy television show, ‘Trigger Happy’.

In the years to come, Waes would often feature on television shows as a presenter, many of these were quiz shows. In 2008, Waes got his own TV show ‘Tomtesterom’. After three seasons of the show, Waes started the travel program ‘Reizen Waes’ in 2012, in which he visits dangerous and remote places. It is now in its fourth season.

Waes has three children and lives in Schoten, near Antwerp.
