In yet another saddening addition to shocking celebrity deaths, "America's Got Talent" winner Neal Boyd passed away on Sunday, June 11. Boyd was just 42.

The cause of death was revealed to be an array of diseases that were related to his weight, as per Scott Amick, the Missouri coroner. The causes also included heart and kidney failure and liver disease.

The winner of season 3 of the reality show was a remarkable opera singer whose talent consistently wowed judges and audience alike, throughout the duration of the competition. He also had his debut album, "My American Dream," release back in 2009, and his second album, "My Christmas Wish," came out four years later, in 2013.

As per reports by multiple outlets, Boyd's mother found him unresponsive in her home on Sunday itself. He was pronounced dead at 6.26 pm.

Boyd had also suffered a major setback earlier in February this year when his mother and he were involved in a major car accident. Post the incident, he had opened up about his rather lengthy recovery process which had caused several shattered bones — including his hip — something that had rendered him incapable to perform, record or have much movement at all.

"Any time you're in a moment of struggle, God has a way of coming in and uplifting you," he had shared with the Southeast Missourian. "You have these 'down moments,' whether it be health or physical, like it is now, and it just feels like something great is about to happen once I get back on my feet and back in front of the audience again."

Several fans took to social media to mourn the death of the talented singer. It wasn't lost on people that Boyd is the third celebrity to pass away in the last one week, following the suicides of designer Kate Spade, and CNN personality and renowned chef, Anthony Bourdain.

America's Got Talent official Twitter handle posted their condolences, saying, "We are very saddened to hear that one of our AGT family members, Neal Boyd, has passed away. Our hearts are with Neal’s loved ones during this difficult time."

Piers Morgan wrote, "Very sad to hear that Neal Boyd, Season 3 winner of ⁦@AGT⁩, has died at 42 from heart failure. Lovely guy with a wonderful voice. RIP." He also attached a photo of Boyd from the day of his big win on AGT.

Twitter user @3bluesfan shared, "I lost another one yesterday. RIP Neal Boyd. Another beautiful soul. This guy had a voice as big as the world. Yes, the guy from America's Got Talent. Two college buddies in a three-day span. Can I please just go to sleep for a few days and not think. WTF!!!!!!!!!!"

Boyd's friend @CarnellJennifer posted, "I can’t believe it is true! Heaven gained an amazing soul! You’ll be missed my friend. Rest In Peace Neal Boyd! #nealboyd #agt #restinpeace"
