The production house is now set to bring one more iconic story on its streaming platform in the form of ‘Turner & Hooch’. Yes, you heard it right. The series will be a continuation of the 1989 movie of the same name which starred Tom Hanks in the lead role. It serves as a legacy sequel.

‘Turner & Hooch’ chronicles the journey of US Marshal Scott Turner (Josh Peck) inheriting an unruly dog named Hooch, who may become the partner he needs. Together, the partnership, alongside the rest of the Turner family discovers that Josh’s father’s death may not have been accidental.

Air time

‘Turner & Hooch’ will be premiering exclusively on Disney+ on Wednesday, July 21, at 3 am ET/midnight PT.

How to watch

According to the official press release, the streaming service of the show is available for $7.99 per month and $79.99 per year. Viewers can download the Disney+ app from Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.  Disney+ is available for streaming via web browsers on PC and Mac and Android TV, Amazon devices such as Fire TV and Fire HD, Chromecast, Chromebook, Samsung smart TVs, LG webOS TVs, Vizio, Roku devices, Sky Q, Now TV devices, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Windows 10.

Plot

The official synopsis reads, “When an ambitious, buttoned-up US Marshal inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the dog he didn't want may be the partner he needs.”

Cast

Josh Peck

Independent Spirit Award winner Josh Peck will be playing the lead role of Scott Turner Jr on the show. In the 1989 movie, Tom Hanks played the character of Scott Turner and as of now, it hasn’t been confirmed if Hanks will be featured on the show. Peck is known for his roles in the projects such as ‘Drake & Josh’, ‘Red Dawn’, ‘Battle of the Year’ and ‘Grandfathered’. The actor received the Independent Spirit Award for his role in the series ‘Mean Creek’.



 

Vanessa Lengies

Vanessa Lengies will be the female lead on the show and will play Erica Mouniere. Lengies started her career with a voice role in the animated TV series ‘The Little Lulu Show’ and went on to appear on several shows. In 2000, she appeared in the TV film ‘Ratz’ and received a Best Actress nomination at the Young Hollywood Awards. She also had a recurring role on ‘Glee’ and was a part of the ensemble that was nominated for a SAG Award.



 

Other actors to feature on the show include Carra Patterson (Jessica Baxter), Anthony Ruivivar (James Mendez), Brandon Jay McLaren (Xavier Wilson), Becca Tobin (Brooke), and Jeremy Maguire (Matthew Garland).

Creators

The series is created and written by Matt Nix. The screenwriter is known for penning projects like ‘The Good Guys’, ‘Complications’, ‘Ben 10’, and ‘The Gifted’. Meanwhile, Mary Viola, Michael Horowitz, Robert Duncan McNeill, and Josh Levy will serve as executive producers.
