Has Amber Heard been REMOVED as UN's Human Rights Champion? The TRUTH behind rumors
It seems critics of Amber Heard are not satisfied with her losing the legal battle against ex-husband Johnny Depp. They seem to want more. A Reddit user, u/ReviewEquivalent1266, has reportedly shared that the actress has been removed from the website of the United Nations Human Rights Commission. The message they shared a few days ago read, “The UN Human Rights Commission finally removed Amber Heard's page from their website after determining she was no longer fit to be a champion for domestic abuse victims.”
In 2018, Heard became the Human Rights Champion of the United Nations Human Rights Council. A year later, she spoke at the European Union’s mission to the United Nations. At the time, ‘The Rum Diary’ actress had said: “What I survived was not the worst that happened to me. It was what happened after.” She went on to emphasize the importance of the MeToo movement as she added: “Imagine the fate of lower-income women, religious and ethnic minorities…. Imagine how much worse it is for them. The Me Too movement has done a great deal… we need to take our outrage and determination to end sexual violence and we need to codify it. My story matters. My assault matters.”
u/ReviewEquivalent1266 also tagged a statement, which looked like an official statement from the UN. It stated, “Shortly after the United Nation’s Human Rights High Commissioner parted ways with Amber Heard the UN made it clear they stood with victims of domestic violence regardless of the victim’s gender identity.”

Has Amber Heard been really removed?
The actual truth behind the Reddit post is that it is a meme. The user themselves have mentioned it. There is reportedly no official statement yet from the intergovernmental organization regarding Heard’s status but her UN page is apparently not available online.
Many commented below u/ReviewEquivalent1266’s post against the ‘Aquaman’ star. A person said, “The UN should actually post this, but we very well know they would never.” The second one claimed, “Here's their link... They quietly removed her... no public statement though. It would've been gratifying if the statement posted was real.” “It's about time! Seriously why are they still giving this abuser a platform to spew lies? They would never give cris brown a mic. Seriously this world is broken!” the third stated, and the fourth one added, “The Heard crowd will soon be trying to discredit the UN now. They'll start making random claims about them being bad etc. Can't wait to read through their mental gymnastics lol.”
Amid all this, several others took to Twitter to celebrate the “removal” of Heard from the UN site and also called out American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) as a user tweeted: “Amber Heard has been quietly removed by the UN as a UN Human Rights Champion. When is the @ACLU going to do the right thing - the public wants to know. #ACLU #AmberIsALiar #JohnnyDeppWon #AmberHeard.” Another user said, “Finally Amber Heard a proven liar and abuser has been removed from the UN (United Nations) as a public representative. Now ALCU when you dropping her? ALCU made this woman ambassador for women rights without doing a background check on her (arrested for DV) and lied about abuse.”
