Tory Lanez assault trial: Rapper wants Kylie Jenner and Corey Gamble to testify, Internet jokes Kris 'won't have it'
LOSA ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tory Lanez was released from house arrest on Monday, December 5, 2022, in a felony assault case against him that alleges that he shot Megan Thee Stallion during a pool party at Kylie Jenner's house which led to a drunken dispute in July 2020.
Nancy Dillon, a journalist from Rolling Stones, recently tweeted, "Tory's lawyer told the judge that Kylie Jenner and Corey Gamble are on his list of possible defense witnesses because they were present at Kylie's pool party before the July 2020 shooting “The argument, everything started there," George Mgdesyan says."

Meanwhile, while releasing the rapper from house arrest, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Herriford said, “I will terminate the house arrest at this point. The main reason is that during the trial, it’s difficult to have a client who’s not accessible. I’m doing this mainly for the trial preparation aspect. However, Tory's $350,000 bond in the case would remain as it is." Defense lawyer George G Mgdesyan indicated in his interaction with Rolling Stone about the pool party, “The argument, everything started there." He also claimed that the list was not a guarantee that he would attempt to haul them into court.
Meanwhile, Mgdesyan said in court on Monday, “She says that my client told her to lie and offered her money because he’s on probation and didn’t want to get arrested. My client has never been on probation."
Further, he added, “If he’s required to have a monitor on his ankle in front of jurors, I think it’s just punitive. It doesn’t serve any purpose. If he’s going to dissuade a witness, all probation is going to know is where he is. It doesn’t mean he can’t meet with that person."
The controversial incident happened on July 12, 2020, when Megan attended a pool party at Kylie Jenner's house where she was shot in the foot. On August 20, 2020, she claimed in an Instagram Live after she underwent surgery, “Yes, this n***a Tory shot me.”
She then said, “I didn’t get cut by no glass, but let me tell you why they’re saying that. When the police came because the neighbors called the police … the police come — I’m scared. All this s**t going on with the police … I didn’t want to die. I didn’t want the police to shoot me cause there’s a n***a with a gun in the car with me," according to Vulture.
Meanwhile, Lanez, who is originally known as Daystar Peterson, was arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and was released on $35,000 bail.
Megan also revealed in an earlier interview with Rolling Stone, “So I get out of the car, and it’s like everything happens so fast. And all I hear is this man screaming. And he said, ‘Dance, b***h.’ And he started shooting. And I’m just like, ‘Oh, my God.’ Like, he shot a couple of times. And I was so scared."
She added, “He is standing up over the window shooting. And I didn’t even want to move. I didn’t want to move too quick… If I take the wrong step, I don’t know if he’s gonna shoot something that’s, like, super important. I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me… I was really scared ’cause I had never been shot at before."
The trial in the matter is expected to begin on Monday, December 12, 2022. Megan Thee stallion, who is originally called Megan Peet, is expected to testify. Mgdesyan also said, “We’re confident the truth will come out. It’s been two years, and we’re confident. He should never have been on house arrest to begin with. It’s punitive. Now that we’re in trial, he needs to be part of the preparation.”
