SNUBBED! Harry Styles, Elton John, and Spice Girls opt out of King Charles' coronation performance
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: As Buckingham Palace gears up for King Charles’ coronation which is slated to take place on May 7, it has now been reported that all is not well as many amongst Britain’s brightest musical talent have turned down invites to perform at the landmark event. Daily Mail reports that singer Harry Styles, musical icon Elton John and popular girl group Spice Girls have all turned down the opportunity to be part of the ceremonial entertainment. This comes amidst whispers that singers Adele and Ed Sheeran have also rejected the offer.
The concert, which is all-set to take place at the Windsor Castle has seen many of these musical artists turn down their slots due to scheduling conflicts and other priorities. While Styles seems to have turned down the offer because of his ‘Love on Tour’ show in Coventry at the time of the event, the reason for the Spice Girls and Elton John turning down their stage time is not known at the moment. As of now, Australian singers and sisters Kylie and Danii Minogue are slated to perform, along with the boyband 'Take That'.

King Charles’ coronation: What you need to know
The coronation is said to reflect King Charles’ role today as a modern monarch and “look towards the future.” The day is to be marked as a bank holiday throughout the UK and people are encouraged to volunteer in community service projects as part of the royal family’s ‘Big Help Out’ campaign.
A laser light show and concert has been planned as part of the festivities and a logo for the event has also been designed. The sign will include a shamrock, a rose, a thistle and a daffodil.
Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the coronation?
On the other side of the pond, it has been reported that the Sussexes have received invites to the milestone event, but their attendance is yet to be confirmed. Their availability has further been put into question with the coronation taking place right on the next day of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie Harrison’s birthday.
Despite their son’s special day, the palace has extended an invite for the estranged royals, amidst quick-spreading rumours that Markle has been left feeling ‘excluded’ at the palace’s attempts to only fight for Prince Harry to be there. Marie Claire reports that as a result of this, the Sussexes may choose not to make an appearance, but are apparently ‘weighing’ their options and considering a ‘million different variables.’
