Is Tommy Lee OK? Motley Crue drummer exits stage 5 songs into reunion tour set
Mötley Crüe’s drummer Tommy Lee had to exit his band's reunion tour, which was delayed for two years, after only five songs into the set due to broken ribs. He was replaced by Ozzy Osborne's drummer Tommy Clufetos for the rest of the show. The tour kicked off in Atlanta on Thursday, June 16, and Lee explained that he wouldn't be able to continue the show as he had 'four' broken ribs, which he announced from the stage itself. One can also say that having Clufetos in the building meant that Lee brought back up and was aware of his inability to finish the show.
As per the clip posted on Twitter by Greg DeBrosse, Lee can be seen explaining the incident. Lee says, "We did it! You did it, we did it, we’re f**king here. Okay, anyway, what I’ve got to tell you is about 14 days ago, I f**kin’ broke not one, not two, not three, but four f**kin’ ribs …" The musician continued, "I wish I had a f**kin’ badass story like me and Connor McGregor f**kin’ scrapping out in some f**kin’ bar or something, but I don’t." The drummer said, "The doctors told me, ‘No playing, bro. No playing.’ And I was like, ‘Are you f**king high, bro? We’ve got a f**king tour to do!’ So anyway, I ain’t sitting out for shit. My boy’s gonna help me out here and I’ll see you guys later. On with the goddamn show."

Mötley Crüe's official statement
Mötley Crüe took to their Twitter account with Lee's official statement claiming that he's "resting and healing" and that he'll "beast through the pain." Lee, via Mötley Crüe, said," "Man ya'll ain't gonna believe this sh*t! I broke 4 f*cking ribs! But I've been resting and healing and even the doctor tells me I shouldn't play at all, you know I'm stubborn and I'll beast through the pain every show for as many songs as I can! And have no fear, my boy Tommy Clufetos is here to help me out until I’m back at 100% … we’ve all been waiting years for this moment, and there’s no way I’m missing this! On with the show!"

Regardless, the show didn't stop and reports claim that Clufetos went on to play 11 more songs after Lee left the stage. Moreover, the fans were surprised by the rocking cameo of Machine Gun Kelly who joined the band for the live debut of “The Dirt (Est. 1981)," which he recorded with the band for the soundtrack of the movie 'The Dirt' in which MGK plays Tommy Lee. Fans wished him a speedy recovery and some advised him not to play after this incident. One user tweeted, "Gotta give him credit for trying! That’s dedication! Speedy recovery!!" Another user said, "Those ribs better heal up a bit by next Saturday’s show in Philly…Get some rest Tommy!"

While Lee got a lot of good wishes from his dedicated fans, there were some who were pissed about the fact that he came and went. One user wrote, "They knew about this 2 weeks ago and had a 2nd guy waiting in the wings. Yet they kept it from the fans. It’s all about money isn’t it? What are we gonna get? Tommy playing 4-5 songs a night and that’s it? Do they even know how much money and time we have all invested in this?" Another angry user wrote, "Think maybe you should have announced this before the show?"
