Tom Sizemore: Fans mourn the death of 'Saving Private Ryan' actor at 61 after brain aneurysm
BURBANK, CALIFORNIA: In one of the tragic news coming from the entertainment industry, actor Tom Sizemore, known for his roles in movies such as ‘Saving Private Ryan’ and ‘Black Hawk Down’, has died following his hospitalization due to a brain aneurysm. He was 61.
The news of Sizemore’s death was confirmed by the actor’s manager Charles Lago. The statement given by the manager also included a reaction from Sizemore’s brother Paul who said that the entire family is “deeply saddened by the loss of my big brother Tom.” The actor passed away in his sleep at St. Joseph’s Hospital Burbank on Friday, March 3.

“It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore ("Tom Sizemore") aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph's Hospital Burbank. He was larger than life. He has influenced my life more than anyone I know. He was talented, loving, and giving and could keep you entertained endlessly with his wit and storytelling ability. I am devasted he is gone and will miss him always,” the statement read.
The actor’s twin sons were also by his side during that moment and are completely “devastated by the loss of their father”. The manager also confirmed that there would be a private cremation service for the family followed by a larger celebration of life event in the coming few weeks.
The news of his comes a few days after Lago announced that the family was “deciding end-of-life matters” because the actor was in a bad shape with no room for recovery. At the time, he said, “Today, doctors informed (Sizemore’s) family that there is no further hope and have recommended (an) end-of-life decision. The family is now deciding end-of-life matters, and a further statement will be issued on Wednesday.”
Fans started to send their condolences to the actor’s family on social media and remembered how the world lost an amazing actor. Throughout his career, Sizemore continued to be a part of several high-end projects such as ‘Natural Born Killers’ (1994), ‘Heat’ (1995), ‘Saving Private Ryan’ (1998), ‘Black Hawk Down’ (2001), ‘Pearl Harbor’ (2001), and more. The actor went on to work television as well and made appearances on the 2017 revival of ‘Twin Peaks’ and a 2023 guest spot on ‘Cobra Kai’.
As a whole, he appeared in a whopping 230 roles in a career spanning over 3 decades. Also, IMDb indicates that almost 30 of his projects were still in development at the time of his death.
