'Today's Craig Melvin caught munching on snacks after ad break as co-hosts are forced to talk for him
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Today’ host Craig Melvin was caught on camera with a mouthful of food even after the show returned from a commercial break. Melvin, 44, alongside co-hosts Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer was joined by nutrition and health expert Joy Bauer who talked about superfood swaps.
On Friday, May 26, ‘Today’ broadcast, host Craig Melvin was caught eating on-air when the show discussed healthier food options. While the hosts are high over heels for the return of Al Roker on the show, the latter appeared on Zoom to talk with his co-hosts post-surgery. The recent episode of ‘Today’ talked about superfood swaps on Superfood Friday as hosts tried different superfood swaps such as swapping lettuce for tortillas in chicken wraps. It seems Craig was super amazed by this ‘swap’ as he couldn’t help himself to stop eating on the live show.

‘Today’ show is popularly recognized that bringing the latest food trends, healthier meal options, and easy recipes to your kitchen. On a recent episode, host Craig, Dylan, and Jones were joined by a nutritious and health expert, Joy Bauer who presented different and healthy food swaps. The healthier food options were those that could make your regular dishes much better with fewer calories and saturated fat. Among the options were pancakes and syrup swapped for berries and whipped cream and chicken wraps swapped for lettuce instead of tortillas. The present hosts tried every food swap, especially Craig who gobbled it. After the segment, the show went to a commercial. However, when it came back, Craig was caught still eating with a mouthful of food. “My mouth is full”, said Craig quietly. To this, Jones teased, “Do you want us to talk for you?” He then went on to cover his mouth and nodded.
Jones and Dylan grinned and continued with the show after cracking a joke, “Well, you should have gone with the lettuce wraps.” Craig, having a good appetite kept on enjoying the food as his co-hosts spoke for him.
‘Today’ hosts surprised with Al Roker’s return
Meanwhile, Dylan, Craig, and Jones got an amazing surprise when co-host Al Roker showed up on set. The hosts screamed on live TV while they were leading a segment on wine. Jones stood at the side of the table while Craig and Dylan stood behind it. As Jones was speaking, "Up next, the woman who may change the way you think about work/life balance. Her strategy," she was cut off as Craig screamed. Jones turned her head and was surprised to see Al Roker walking towards them with a cane. They all gave him hugs and were overwhelmed to see him back as Craig added, "What's up, brother? Good to see you.” As the episode was on-air, Jones realized as turned, “We're still on the air. We'll be right back. A little reunion.”
