Tiffany Haddish ‘regrets’ being in the news after DUI arrest, relieved 'no one was hurt by her mistake'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tiffany Haddish is 'regretting' being in the news after DUI arrest. The actress, 43, was arrested on suspicion of DUI charges on Friday morning, November 27, after she allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel of a car in Beverly Hills.
She is reportedly keen to shut down any suggestion she has an alcohol problem, and is looking forward to moving on from the incident.
Tiffany Haddish is relieved that no one was hurt
Daily Mail reported that Haddish is "relieved" that no one was "hurt" by her "mistake."
"Tiffany regrets that she is in the news for being arrested, but is grateful that nobody got hurt," reported the outlet, citing a source.
The source further said,, "She is going to tackle it all head-on and get the right lawyers." This is not the first time that Haddish has been arrested for DUI.
In January 2022, she was arrested in Peachtree City, Georgia, for allegedly smoking marijuana while driving. She was reportedly found 'dozing in the driver's seat' of her car.
She later joked about the incident on 'The Tonight Show' saying that God had sent her four men in uniform as an answer to her prayers. "I’ve got to get my asking of things to God a little better!' she joked.
Tiffany Haddish doesn't want people to think she needs help
The source further stated to the outlet that, "She doesn't want this to define her or have people think she needs help.
"She made a mistake, and it is not because she has an alcohol problem. It was just a bad thing that she got herself into and she is working on moving on from it."
The source further said, "She's looking forward to getting back to work and heading into the new year with the outlook of finding new love and new film and TV opportunities."
Tiffany Haddish’s split from Common
Haddish had broken up with rapper and actor Common three months before her first DUI arrest in 2021.
The couple had dated for about a year and had publicly gushed about their relationship.
Haddish had even said that Common was the 'S******' boyfriend. However, the romance fizzled out due to their busy schedules and different lifestyles.
"They are never in the same city together,” an insider told People at the time, adding "Both of them are just too busy for a serious relationship.”
