Rapper T.I. allegedly punched Andrew Taggart in the face after Chainsmokers singer tried to KISS him
NEW YORK CITY: The Chainsmokers’ Andrew Taggart claimed recently that rapper T.I. punched him in the face at a party when the Sick Boy singer tried to kiss him on the cheek. Taggart had no idea that he would receive 'Something Just Like This' from the Atlanta rapper.
Taggart, 32 on Tuesday, August 16, claimed in a video posted to the group’s TikTok page, titled, 'When meeting TI goes wrong.' He stated, "T.I. just literally punched me in the face." Though the EDM producer laughs while explaining everything that happened in the video in a car, it turned out to be a shocking encounter with the Atlanta rapper.

Singer Taggart, in the video, is seen explaining the incident while sitting in a car with his friends. He said as group mate Alex Pall, 37, laughed in the background, "We’re in a vibe and I, like, gave him a kiss on the cheek, it was totally my fault." He added, "And he was like, 'Don’t do that,' and I was like, 'OK,' and he pushed me off. I was like, ‘Alright, my bad.'"
He continued, "He punched me in the face, and I was like, 'OK, I’m sorry,' and he was like, 'Alright, cool, we're good.' It was the weirdest interaction ever."
The 'Take Away' artist later admitted his role in the humiliating incident saying, TI is fully in the right here. I was like, feeling the vibes way too hard, and I kissed TI on the cheek, and he punched me in the face for it. It’s fully fine."
Some fans supported Taggart while others, however, believe that making the move without consent was inappropriate. One fan wrote, "Ur just comfortable with ur sexuality, nothin wrong with a kiss on the cheek." Another wrote, "BOUNDARIES!!! Can’t be kissing people without consent my boy, you know better! Lol."
Clifford Joseph Harris Jr, nicknamed T.I. and TIP took to Instagram and addressed the alleged incident inviting the duo on to his podcast, "Expeditiously." T.I. wrote in his caption, "let's sit down & chop it up on @expeditiouslyti."
In the video, the Atlanta rapper, 41, explained, "I have nothing negative to say, we just had to work through some stuff, you know what I mean? We got to a much better place. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I won’t go into too much detail, but I love The Chainsmokers, man." He continued, "I think the most important thing to take away is afterward. We had a drink, we took a shot, and we moved on. I like The Chainsmokers, not to get no sugar though."
