The sixth and final season of ‘This Is Us’ has, once again, shown us how amazing writing can take the series to a whole new level. However, this is not the first time the show has managed to captivate the minds and hearts of audiences. The final season has already aired three episodes and the latest episode ended on a massive cliffhanger.

Randall (Sterling K. Brown) is having some trouble in his relationship with his daughter, Deja (Lyric Ross). The scene, where Randall was talking to her about her relationship with Malik (Asante Blackk), ended in a nightmare as Deja doesn’t want to stay away from her love and wants to meet him. She said, “Well, that’s gonna be a problem” after her dad said that she won’t be seeing Malik for some time. However, the most emotional moment of the episode came when Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) received a phone call that his mother has died.

‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 4 Spoilers: Did Jack have a troubled relationship with his mother?

Episode 4 of ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 teases another emotional saga in which viewers will get to know about Jack’s relationship with his mother, Marilyn (Laura Niemi). Now, fans don’t know much about his mother and the only thing we know is that she was in an abusive relationship with Jack’s father, Stanley (Peter Onorati), who was an alcoholic. It was Jack who took his mother out of that abusive marriage and also cut ties with his father.

However, it seems Jack wasn’t very close to his mother either. In episode 4, we’ll see Jack organizing the funeral for his mother and telling Rebecca that he needs to “tighten up some loose ends.” When he finally reaches his mom’s home, he has to interact with her immediate circle of friends. Some of them welcome him with open arms while some ask why he did not visit his mother for 13 long years. But despite the years apart, another friend explains just how important Jack was to his mother.

Jack is also stumped by the task of writing a heartfelt eulogy for his mother, who he had barely interacted with in over a decade. He discusses it with Rebecca and says that he has no idea "what to write". In the end, we get to know that Jack is “speechless” when he gets ready to give the eulogy. He definitely needs some saving this time around. The situation suggests that it will be an emotional episode in which viewers will get to see another side of Jack’s life.
