UVALDE, TEXAS: The USA was brought down to its knees after an 18-year-old gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, killing at least 19 children as the shooter went classroom to classroom in what is being called the deadliest and most gruesome school shooting incident in nearly a decade. Reports suggest that the attacker, Salvador Ramos, also shot his grandmother before crashing his vehicle near the school. According to the authorities, she’s still in critical condition.

Parents and activists are demanding answers from the government and slamming the “pro-gun” politicians after the attack. Activist Fred Guttenberg, who lost his 14-year-old daughter Jaime Guttenberg in the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, on February 14, 2018, blasted the Texas government officials for politicizing “guns” and “violence”.

It hasn’t been easy for Guttenberg to live his life after his daughter’s death, he became an activist against gun violence and has been actively participating in events that put pressure on the government to implement gun control laws. While appearing on MSNBC, Guttenberg said that he is still in “shock” and finding it hard to not curse certain politicians on live television.

Talking about the incident, Guttenberg stated that the Republican politicians such Gov. Greg Abbott and Senator Ted Cruz are not like Senator Chris Murphy (Connecticut, Democratic Party) who has been doing everything to solve the problem of gun violence.

He said, “I’m trying hard not to curse, Nicole. But, I’m shaking and I would like to tell them to ‘f--- off’ because the way they politicize gun and violence led us to this day. Parents, loved ones, who right now have to think about how I am going to plan a funeral, who might be thinking about what kind of casket. They now have to think that all they did was to send them to school and now, we have to plan their funeral.”

Guttenberg, who was visibly angry and upset with what happened at the Texas elementary school, also said that it took more than 24 hours to grasp what just happened. He also noted that it’s not going to be easy for parents to get through this pain. “I’m here for you. Others are here for you too. You will be okay, you will find a path forward. But for the next bunch of days and week, you have to get through this HORROR,” Guttenberg said.

The activist, once again, slammed the pro-gun politicians for “f*****g failing” the kids again. He added, “I’m done. They f*****g failed our kids again. How many more times? Are we going to sit back and listen to the governor of Texas talk about why he pushed the laws in Texas that made it easier for the guns to be held by those who want to kill? How many more times?”

He also shared an incident where he sat down with Senator Ted Cruz and listened to his “non-sense” about doing bare minimum in background checking of those who want to have a gun in their hands. “Two year ago, I sat down with you (Cruz) in your office. I listened to your non-sense, you BS,” the activist added.

Guttenberg also said that the next shooting incident is “predictable” if the concerned authorities keep doing nothing. However, he assured that he and people like Senator Murphy are going to keep on fighting till the time this issue is fixed.

After the gruesome incident, Robb Elementary School announced that school has been canceled for the rest of the year. In a Facebook post, Robb Elementary School wrote, "Our community has experienced a terrible tragedy. We must come together to console one another and respect the privacy of the families. Please keep all families in your prayers. School has been canceled for the rest of the school year for our students.”
