Who is Lexie Duncan? Here's why Dwayne Johnson calls high school sweetheart 'fine a** Karen' in 'The Young Rock'
Spoilers for 'The Young Rock'
The newly released NBC sitcom 'Young Rock' is slowly making its way into people's hearts. Some say it reminds them of the show 'Everybody Hates Chris', but to many the sitcom is simply a joy to watch. The series takes us to 2032 where Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is running for president, and through his set of interviews he takes us back to his childhood days. If you've watched the premiere episode 'Working the Gimmick', you know that Johnson's family and other big names in wrestling have already been mentioned. But Episode 2 is said to bring in a new character.
The synopsis for 'On The Road Again' reads: "Pennsylvania, 1987: Dwayne pretends he’s rich to impress popular girl Karen, but a date to Rocky’s wrestling match at the flea market risks exposing the truth. Stressed about money, Ata takes on a wealthy new client." Actress Lexie Duncan is set to play the role of Karen, described by Variety to be the high-school sweetheart for The Rock when he was a teenager. Actor Bradley Constant plays 15-year-old Johnson. The publication reveals that Duncan plays the "popular, charismatic, high-school girl with dreams of attending Barbizon beauty school. Constant’s character catches her eye, and they begin dating in the idyllic town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania".

Who is Lexie Duncan?
Duncan is making her Primetime debut with 'Young Rock', but does have two other acting credits to her name. She played the role of Tahlia in the TV series 'The Secret Daughter' (2017) and Alice in the short film 'VeeBees' (2019). In 2019, the actress won an Honorable Mention at the Independent Shorts Awards International Film Festival for Best Dark Comedy for 'VeeBees' which she shared with directors Jessica Orcsik and Robbie Ryde, cinematographer Mathew Young, executive producer Tamiah Bantum and actress Harlow Brooks.
That same year, Duncan also won a Festival Prize at the Diabolical Horror Film Festival for Best Short Film for the same product which she shared with the same colleagues. Variety reveals that Duncan comes from a musical theater background and is repped by Luber Roklin, Active Artists Management and The Initiative Group. The actress has been promoting 'Young Rock' on her official Instagram account, with one picture with co-star Constant. You can see it below.
On February 17 a clip of the series, as reported by Yahoo, sees Dwayne Johnson's character speaking with his best friend. During the conversation, Karen is referred to as 'fine ass Karen'. The video also reveals that Karen thinks that Dwayne is rich, but he really isn't, which of course, fits perfectly well with the synopsis, so it's the same Karen. We wonder why that nickname came to be. Did Johson really call his high school sweetheart 'fine ass Karen'?
A Decider article writes of how the upcoming episode sees the family in 1987 Bethlehem, PA, where Constant's 15-year-old Dwayne has shoplifted clothes to impress a blonde girl called 'fine ass Karen'.
The third episode of the comedy series titled 'Forward, Together' will air on Tuesday, March 2, at 8 pm EST on NBC. Don't miss it.
