It was a grim third episode of the final season of 'The Walking Dead. The reapers are more than just additional killing machines alongside the walkers and they appear... scratch that, are actually quite insane. The latest episode sees a major part of the survivors decimated by the new enemies on the block who make it their life's mission to take down Maggie (Lauren Cohan). The episode starts with a brutal attack that sees one of the reapers slice Cole's throat, while another nails multiple throwing blades into Duncan.

Maggie escapes and finds shelter in an abandoned mall only to be attacked by a couple of reapers who mortally wounds Alden (Callan McAuliffe). Although she finds Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) to help with assisting the injured survivor, the magnitude of the injuries implies he's at the end of his tether. The trio makes their way to an abandoned church and meets with Agatha (Laurie Fortier) and Duncan (Marcus Lewis) only to see Duncan succumbing to his wounds while Agatha gets mauled by a group of walkers later in a zombie attack.

With this, there are two confirmed deaths in the episode already. The question is about Alden's run. With Maggie and Negan leaving him behind to make sure the larger goal of getting the supplies are met, chances are he won't make it by the time reinforcements arrive to rescue him. Chances are he will either be walking like a zombie soon or may be killed by one of the reapers who are relentless about wanting to kill Maggie.

That said, Alden is unlikely to be part of the upcoming episode titled 'Rendition.' The focus seems to be on Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Dog. The official synopsis by AMC reads: "Daryl and Dog get captured by the Reapers and are taken to the Meridian and reconnect with someone.
