'The Walking Dead' Season 10 Finale: Will Father Gabriel die trying to save Judith?
'The Walking Dead' Season 10 has delivered several zingers in the form of brutal deaths of loved characters, characters that we had grown to love and characters we loved to hate. The ordeal isn't over as fans are waiting with bated breath for the gruesome finale, which will air sometime later this year. Unfortunately, in the face of the crippling coronavirus pandemic, like everything else, televison shows and films have all been delayed and schedules are all being shuffled around.
The finale promises a lot of blood and gore as there is going to be a grand showdown between the survivors and Beta's (Ryan Hurst) new squad of the dead. Daryl (Norman Reedus) can be seen saying, "We're all not going to make it through, but this is the only way." There is also a brief emotional moment between Daryl and Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming). Huge character deaths are certain, just by the looks of it.
In the previous episode, there was much worry as Aaron and Alden were surrounded by Beta's army of the dead. Yet in the promo for the next episode, we still get to see them fighting away. So there is a chance they could survive. Another casualty could be Carol (Melissa McBride). In Episode 14, after almost being killed by a whisperer, she ominously muttered, "It's never too late."
But going by the promo of the finale, we are getting to see A LOT of Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), which makes us worry and speculate whether he is going to die in the finale.
We see glimpses of Judith as well while the rest of the group heroically decides to head for the face-off with Beta's grimy dead friends. In the comic books, Father Gabriel has a gruesome death as his ankle snaps while keeping watch from the tower and he dangles while Beta guts him. The Walkers then devour him. In the show, it could go either way. But considering Judith is at risk, Gabriel might just redeem his earlier seasons of cowardice and backstabbing and die a hero's death, saving Judith. This would be an atonement of his sins, and well, a heartbreaking finale as many fans had just grown to like him.
'The Walking Dead' is an AMC show.
