'The Voice' Top 20: Blake Shelton begs America to vote for Peedy Chavis, fans deny

'It's called #TheVoice, not 'The Entertainer'... Sorry Peedy..,' wrote a fan

With his boyish charm and spot-on Elvis Presley impersonation, 19-year-old Peedy Chavis managed to impress Blake Shelton enough to earn a spot on the show, and cruise through the battles and knockouts round. Now, it's the lives round, and the coaches no longer have a say on which contestant gets to stay and who leaves, as the audience will decide the fate of the contestants based on their performance. 

Peedy kicked off the lives performance for Team Blake with his extremely entertaining performance to 'Proud Mary' by Creedence Clearwater Revival. The teenage performer ran across the stage, performed some amazing dance moves all while singing his song. By the end of his performance, the coaches especially Blake was super impressed by Peedy's performance in the lives round. Even before giving his feedback to Peedy or showering him with praises, Blake looked straight at the cameras and began begging for America to vote for Peedy so that he can continue his journey on the show.

The other coaches- Ariana Grande, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend praised his showmanship and wished him luck. While the coaches seem to be impressed with his performance, unfortunately, the fans didn't share the same sentiment. Several fans took to Twitter to remind the coaches and Peedy that the show was called 'The Voice' and not 'The Performer' after watching his high-energy performance during the lives round.

A fan tweeted, "So no Peedy #TheVoice I'm offended that no one told him no!!!! What in the gentrification of Tina." Another fan wrote, "What the hell was that last performance? Yikes Peedy! #TheVoice." "#TheVoice Me as #Peedy attempted to sing Tina Turner like Elvis Presley. Y’all be tryin," commented a fan.

Another fan shared, "It's called #TheVoice, not 'The Entertainer'... Sorry Peedy.." "Yeah Peedy is a great performer, but he's on the wrong show. His vocals are not impressive; he's more a performer than a singer & should be on American Idol where that is foremost not #TheVoice," seconded a fan. Another fan added, "Peedy was soo bad but he was entertaining. I might throw some votes for him #TheVoice needs a joke act like #AmericanIdol always has #VoiceTop20."
