'The Voice' Season 17 sneak peek: Fans predict Blake Shelton will choose Ricky Duran as the winner of the Battle Round
'The Voice' season 17 has officially moved on from its Blind Auditions and has stepped into the Battle Rounds with full force.
Back again on Monday night, the series will continue with its Battle Rounds, as contestants from each team face off for a chance to win the battle and move into the Knockout Rounds. In a recently released sneak peek, the series revealed the battle between Ricky Duran and Marina Chello from Blake Shelton's team.
Both equally strong singers from the team battled it out against each other with their rendition of 'Valerie' by Amy Winehouse. Ricky's auditions had all four coaches turn their chairs for him within a few seconds of him singing.
His runs during the battle against Marina was exceptional that had the coaches cheering and shocked at the same time at the ease with which he sang. Marina was equally good, her tone and pitch were impeccable, but both John Legend and Gwen Stefani were more impressed with Ricky's performance. Meanwhile, Kelly said that she is ready to steal whoever is left up for grabs.
Post his performance, John said, "Ricky, something about your tone is really cool to me. You sound like a star. You have that something special about your voice that feels extra magical. If I were to pick, I'd pick Ricky."
The sneak peek ended before Shelton revealed his choice of the winner, and now fans are speculating that he would have chosen Ricky as the winner of the battle round.
A fan wrote, "Ricky!!! He had passion and was focus!" Adding to that another fan wrote, "MARINA WAS AWESOME IN HER BLIND, BUT I THINK, RICKY WAS BETTER BY A HUNDRED."
Commenting below the sneak peek that was released on YouTube a fan said, "Great battle. Marina was better than the Blinds, but Ricky is different! His tone is unique. Ricky has a good chance of winning this season. After a long time, Team Blake's frontrunner is not country. HALLELUJAH!"
"He has a unique distinct soothing voice though she did a good job too but can't ignore his voice man. Blake pick Ricky Duran," said another fan.
Looking at the positive comments Ricky received from the coaches, it looks like he might have won the battle after all. But we will have to wait till the episode airs on Monday night to see if Blake does pick Ricky or if he ends up picking Marina.
