'The Voice' Season 17 knockout round: Fans unhappy with Blake Shelton after he chooses Cali as the winner and eliminates Marina

Fans who watched both performances revealed their disappointment in Blake after he chose 'the wrong contestant' as the winner.

Looks like Blake Shelton needs some saving from fans of 'The Voice' season 17, as they claim he keeps making one mistake after the other by choosing the wrong contestants as the winner.

Returning on Monday night, 'The Voice' season 17 concluded with its Battle Round, and entered the Knockouts, with Taylor Swift making her debut as the mega mentor this season. The entire episode was a hit because fans were way too excited to see Taylor return to The Voice as a mentor once again. But that aside, fans are not happy with Blake and his decision for the Knockout Round performance between Marina Chello and Cali Wilson. This is not the first time Blake is facing backlash from fans because of his choices.

During the Battle Rounds between Joana Martinez and Matthew McQueen, and Cory Jackson and Zach Bridges fans were clearly not happy with him choosing Joana and Zach as the winner of the battles. And nothing was holding them back when they went on to reveal their disappointment. And now he's back in their bad books with the first Knockout performance from his team.

Performing 'I Who Have Nothing' by Tom Jones, Marina aced the song with her powerful voice, it was also really bold. Up next was Cali singing her rendition of 'Wicked Game' by Chris Isaak; it was beautiful and subtle as John Legend shared. When it came to selecting a winner, though, Marina was let go and Blake chose Cali as the winner of the Knockout Round advancing her to the Live Playoffs.

Fans who watched both performances took to Twitter, post the battle to reveal their disappointment in Blake choosing the wrong contestant as the winner. "I can't believe that you cut Marina, a d kept Cali based on 1 song. Marina has a far superior overall voice , vocal range and versatility. @blakeshelton #TheVoice," a fan wrote. Adding to that another said, "You should have kept Marina. She gave me chill bumps. I think that was a mistake. Sorry...@blakeshelton #TheVoice."

"@blakeshelton #TheVoice I’m still trying to wrap my mind around you not picking Marina whew!" shared a fan. While another said, "Blake you’re one of my favorite country singers and always will be but, dude you messed up so bad tonight Marina was awesome the best one on the show tonight .  #TheVoice."

"@blakeshelton #TheVoice WTH are you thinking not picking Marina and more than half of America felt the same!! The other coaches tricked you on that pick lmao even your so called girlfriend," wrote a fan.

Do you think Blake made a wrong choice by letting Marina go? Let us know in the comments below.

'The Voice' season 17 airs every Monday and Tuesday night only on NBC. Check your local listings for more information.
