‘The Voice’ season 21 is nearing its end after the top five were finalized on Tuesday, December 7. Episode 24 saw three singers namely Joshua Vacanti, father and son duo Jim and Sasha Allen, and country singer Lana Scott getting eliminated. Jershika Maple from Team Legend got lucky as America made sure she continues the journey till the end with the help of ‘instant save’.
The viewers of ‘The Voice’ have been keeping a sharp eye on the reality show since day one and therefore, some of them got excited as their favorite artistes made it to the top five. Artistes namely Girl Named Tom from Team Kelly and Wendy Moten from Team Blake are being considered as one of the top fan choices. The two have emerged as the top choice for winning the show after they upped the ante in the semifinals. The finale episode of ‘The Voice’ will be aired in two parts i.e. December 13 and December 14. Girl Named Tom from Team Kelly is the trio people are looking forward to life the trophy this year. The group consists of three siblings Bekah Liechty and her older brothers, Caleb and Joshua. The band might have faced trolls at the beginning of their journey but they soon managed to impress the fans with their unique renditions. They were the first one to earn the coveted four-chair turn in the blind auditions. Their recent performance in the semifinals is considered their best so far after they belted out Joni Mitchell’s track ‘River’. The Girl Named Tom were earlier facing competition from Ariana Grande’s duo Jim and Sasha Allen but they too got evicted as they failed to reach the top five.
Wendy Moten
Wendy Moten from Team Blake has been one of the hottest topics of debate between the fans as she already enjoys a successful singing career as compared to others who are just taking baby steps in the business. Wendy Moten is a 56-year-old crooner from Nashville, Tennessee, who has also sung as a background singer for more than a decade. Her performance in the semifinals aired on December 6 during episode 23 got the social media users drooling. Despite many saying it was unfair of her to reach the finale, she is the fan-favorite this year.
Do other finalists stand a chance?
Jershika Maple from Team Legend, Paris Winningham from Team Blake, and Hailey Mia from Team Kelly are the rest of the three singers who made it to the finale. Jershika was the one who got the ‘instant save’ giving her another opportunity to lift the trophy. She earlier had faced the same situation in top 11 but luckily made it further on the show.
Paris Winningham gets a lot of love from his mentor Blake Shelton and the latter keeps on putting a word for him on the show in order to make the fans vote for him. Hailey Mia from Team Kelly is the youngest singer on the show and if she wins this season, she will be the youngest ever to win ‘The Voice’. She proved her mettle after beating the likes of Joshua Vacanti and Jim and Sasha Allen in the semifinals.
