LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When it comes to ‘The View’ one of the best things about it is the range of co-hosts. Now, while they all belong to the same gender, and different political parties, the one thing that stands out is their ages. There’s almost a generation gap between these co-hosts, which brings different perspectives and worldviews to the table. While mostly it’s a boon, sometimes, it can create differences.

Whoopi Goldberg isn’t one who likes to be explained things every now and then, especially when she is aware of them. So when her co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin stepped in to explain a few lingos to her, she didn’t seem too pleased about it. Goldberg isn’t unfamiliar with snapping at her fellow co-hosts, but Griffin seemed a little unprepared this time around.

‘Who is Gen Z?’

As ‘The View’ co-hosts began their segment on Wednesday, Goldberg read a cue card about Gen Z, “The Washington Post reports, that among Gen Z…” Before she could finish reading the cue card, Goldberg stopped with a confused and annoyed expression on her face as she looked at her co-hosts, Griffin in particular, and asked, “Who is Gen Z? Is that you?” pointing at Griffin, who tried to explain the situation to the best of her ability and said, “Younger than me…20s.” Sunny Hostin explained who Gen Z are, pointing out that it is her children and their age group. Goldberg admits she has grandchildren and great-grandchildren of that age for that matter, before continuing reading the material on her cue card, “Um…amongst Gen Z, plastic surgery is no longer hush-hush, now its good content.”

'I know what it means, babe'

Goldberg made a face while saying the word ‘content’ and Griffin jumped the gun before Goldberg could continue. “Like they put it on social media,” Griffin said, explaining it to Goldberg without being asked and Goldberg is quick to respond, “No, I know what it means, babe.” The entire panel burst into laughter at this comment and Griffin looked embarrassed as she claimed “I wasn’t sure.” Goldberg did not address Griffin as she speaks to the panel and said, “I just think it’s ridiculous, but that’s just me.” Goldberg might have taken some offense to Griffin explaining the internet lingo to her but swiftly moved on from the conversation.
