UPDATED AUG 27, 2019

This article contains spoilers for season 2, episode 3.

In the upcoming episode 4 of 'The Terror: Infamy' we will see protagonist Chester Nakayama dig deeper into the secrets of the Yurei plaguing their Japanese American community as they are being detained in internment camps, during the Second World War.  The newly released promo for the AMC anthology horror's second season's episode 4 shows Chester (Derek Mio) taking uncanny interest in finding out just what exactly is a Yurei, after doubting that the mysterious ethereal beauty, Yuko, is behind the terrifying haunting of their community. Somehow or the other, Yuko has always been spotted around the crime scene right before a mysterious death happens or a body appears out of nowhere. And considering Chester has spotted her more than anybody else, it makes sense why he wants to pursue the answers behind these apparitions.

Chester speaks to a friend to find out exactly what a Yurei is, and the friend tells him what the Yurei is after can be usually told based on its omen. According to Chester's friend, who also quips about the young boy 'ghosthunting' now, the Yurei has a "crazed hunger for something." The friend continues saying "Maybe somebody wronged (the Yurei) in his lifetime. But whatever it is, it spends the rest of eternity trying to satisfy its own." At this point, a very shaken Chester asks his friend if the Yurei can control other people, and his friend reminds him that none of this is real. It is at this point that Chester tells him how the Japanese translation is filled with letters talking about vengeful Japanese spirits, so we know it's not just his curiosity getting the better of him. In the most recently aired third episode 'Gaman', we see Chester take up a job with the American army as a translator, so this could be his new assignment. But it definitely has more personal level involvements, especially now that his girlfriend had to seek out Yuko for help with a check-up of their unborn child.

'The Terror: Infamy' airs on Mondays, at 9pm, only on AMC.
