'The Purge' season 2 to focus on how the survivors live for the rest of the year after those 12 hours of violence

It is the survival of the fittest on 'The Purge'. More like survival of the one not hesitant to kill.

'The Purge' will return to USA Network for what looks like another bloody and gory second season. A thrilling trailer to season 2 grabs us and throws us into the alternate universe of the series.

The premise for 'The Purge' is pretty anarchic. According to the official synopsis of the show, the series revolves around "a 12-hour period when all crime, including vandalism, murder, arson, and theft, is legal, set in the alternate United States ruled by a totalitarian government." While the characters happen to be unconnected in general, it is a game of survivors against attackers, with each party coming together to fight the other.

Season 2 puts the focus on the long-term effects of the Purge on those participating in the event killing people at large and those who have survived the ordeal. How does a single night change the course of the lives of four interconnected characters? How do they survive the remainder of the 364 days of the year?

The trailer for season 2 looks like a colossal improvement on its first season. And fans won't disagree. "This will be the first time I watch this show because of how good this season looks. The first season looked like hideous cheap dull trash," said one fan. Others commented on the upcoming series' appearance and its potential in comparison to the previous season. "Looks very dark and has a better tonal appearance to it."

The series is executive produced by James DeMonaco, Sébastien K. Lemercier, Krystal Houghton Ziv, James Roland, Tim Andrew, and Jason Blum. It is a co-production between Blumhouse Television and UCP (Universal Content Productions) starring Gabriel Chavarria, Hannah Emily Anderson, Jessica Garza, Lili Simmons, Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell and Lee Tergesen.

'The Purge' season 2 will premiere on USA Network on October 15, 2019.
