Episode 4 of 'The Outsider' titled 'Que Viene El Coco' saw the series take a supernatural turn with the most logical of PIs suspecting its possibility. PI Holly Gibney (Cynthia Erivo) retraces the steps of late Terry Maitland (Jason Bateman) only to find two other murder cases with similar circumstances.

Obviously, innocent people who have been convicted as killers have alibis and eyewitnesses placing them away from their respective crime scenes and yet there is overwhelming DNA evidence tying them to the crime.

In her quest to find the meaning behind why innocent people were being accused of horrific crimes, Gibney comes across a woman who instills in her the thought of a supernatural force being involved.

Described as a "grief eater", fans caught on to the daunting nature of the said supernatural figure. "'It takes the child itself. But after, it likes to linger, because it craves the pain of the ones left behind. If the child is its meal, the suffering of the family is its dessert.' #TheOutsider," tweeted a fan.

Even though the murder cases are as brutal, the possibility of a force killing the grieving members of the families involved in the cases left fans with goosebumps. "Tonight's episode of #TheOutsider reminding people that it's a horror story," tweeted one fan while another tweeted, "Well that was certifiably creepy. I have no idea where this is going next. #TheOutsider."

Others talked about how they probably should not have watched it alone or at night, with another creeped out fan tweeted, "Just watched #TheOutsider, and now I'm scared I'm gonna wake up in the middle of the night and find El Cuco standing over my bed."

Fans were even more creeped out with eccentric Gibeny deciding to google the boogeyman alone. "The last place I want to read about El Cuco and other boogeymen is naked in a tub by myself. #TheOutsider," tweeted another fan.

It's safe to say that the introduction of a terrifying folklore monster has taken the excellence of this show to another level, and fans are loving it.

'The Outsider' airs on Sundays at 9 pm EST on HBO.
