The Office's favorite nice guy Jim Halpert is a sweetheart in real life too. Actor John Krasinski took it upon himself to help teenagers who had to miss one of the biggest nights of their highschool life - prom - because of the COVID-19 lockdown.

This past Friday night (April 17), Krasinski hosted a virtual prom that included performances by fan-favorite indie-pop singer Billie Eilish and boy band sensation the 'Jonas Brothers.' Taking to his Instagram account, Krasinski announced the event was going to be streamed live at 8 pm EST on Friday. Posting a picture of himself at his own prom, Krasinski captioned the post, "First of all... you’re welcome. Second of all I can’t take it anymore how much you are all missing your prom. So let’s do something about it! Let’s have an #SGNprom ! Yup, I’ll DJ with some friends on Friday 8 EST/5 PST! Stay tuned!"

Fans were able to tune in to the virtual prom on Krasinski's YouTube channel 'Some Good News' where the actor has decided to post positive stories that are happening as almost the entire world is in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the virus claiming thousands of lives and continuing to do so, stories of its wrath have taken over all media outlets. Needless to say, 'Some Good News' is a refreshing source of good vibes. You can see some of the performances on Twitter - the Jonas Brothers, and Chance Rapper and Krasinski's "The Office" costar Rainn Wilson. After the live stream was done, Krasinski also encouraged viewers to attend an after-party on Instagram Live that was hosted by DJ D-Nice.

If you've kept a track of the actor's moves on social media or the news, you would have noticed that this is not the first time Krasinski has done something nice amid this lockdown. Here are a few of the things he's done to help spread happiness and positivity during these trying times.

On April 10, Krasinski, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of 'Hamilton' had surprised a little girl or her ninth birthday. Little Aubrey had bought tickets to see 'Hamilton' in Jacksonville but was devastated when the performance was canceled because of the pandemic. Krasinski, again, our favorite nice-guy, invited the child on his YouTube channel promising the little girl that when the pandemic subsides, he and his wife Emily Blunt would fly Aubrey and her family to New York with tickets to see 'Hamilton.' To make things even better for the little one, Miranda and other cast members sang 'Alexander Hamilton' for the Aubrey virtually.

On an episode of 'Some Good News', the actor also had footage of nurses, patients that have recovered and other people doing the best they can during this quarantine lockdown. Krasinski also gave a tribute to heroes from his own hometown as he chatted with the COVID-19 unit from the Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Furthermore, he had Red Sox legend David "Big Papi" Ortiz on the show who took the positive vibes a bit further when the duo partnered up to bring some smiles by gifting them free Red Sox tickets for life.

Of course, that was just the beginning as after Krasinski told the workers to go outside, only for them to be surprised by Boston's famous Duck Boats that was geared up to take them to Fenway Park. Cue the tears because the hardworking healthcare workers were given the opportunity to throw out "the first pitch of the 2020 season," as they were applauded by Red Sox players projected live on the stadium's Jumbotron.

We're all struggling during this pandemic and while people are going through pay cuts, loss of jobs and lack of viable resources, Krasinski's channel 'Some Good News' aims to bring some positive vibes to life. We always knew that Halpert was the best there ever was.
