It is so good to see Fen and Josh back even if it was because of Elliot's ninja-changing Margo's goodbye letter to Josh so that the High King Margo's government-in-exile could join them 300 years later, sidestepping the whole Dark King and the "Takers" messiness. And the dwarf got his ham sandwich too!

While the Dark King still rules and the "Takers" are very much around, at least Fen and Josh did not have to needlessly die. Elliot, being the effacing type has, of course, told Fen and Josh that it was all Margo's idea. So the sneak peek clip shows them toasting Margo's greatness while Margo wants to hop back to Fillory to "overthrow the Dark King". And sure enough, Josh is thinking ahead about snacks -- cookies anyone?

While Margo rails at Elliot for letting her take the credit, Elliot says its easier just to go with the flow. After all, he is the one who runs away, while Margo is the one who finds the solutions. It is best not to confuse the subjects and just stick with the "simple, uncomplicated story", says Elliot.

Just then, Alice, looking sketchy as hell and with a backpack, enters and seems to avoid making eye contact. It immediately prompts Elliot to get suspicious as he breaks off the conversation with Margo to go talk to Alice. What Alice is up to now is anyone's guess.

The official synopsis of season 5 episode 3 called 'The Mountain of Ghosts' says Elliot and Alice go on a hike, up the aforementioned mountain mentioned in the episode title. But why they would do this is the question.

As the promo for the episode shows, the hike will be anything but easy. We get the first glimpse of the mysterious "Takers" who have been terrorizing Fillory for the last 300 years. They are scary-looking, pale, bald humanoids with soulless eyes and long-fingered hands with claws.

One of them attacks Elliot, taking him by surprise, while Alice screams in the background. Before the attack, Alice and Elliot get in some bonding time. Elliot shows her the letter he wrote to Quentin. So that is one worry laid to rest. Elliot hasn't mailed the letter to Quentin yet.

Meanwhile, Margo and Fen are slated to "spar by the light of the glorious double moon" in a contest of sorts in Fillory. Both look determined to defeat each other, as Margo wields a deadly ax while Fen gets her knives out to play. And it looks like they aren't play-fighting each other either but rather staging a battle to the death. Could they have forgotten that they are both on the same side?

The next episode of 'The Magicians' airs January 29 at 10/9c on Syfy.
