'The Magicians' Episode 5 & 6 promo sees the gang ramping up the spell work to avoid the Apocalypse

This week, the series will have two back-to-back episodes with the gang finally together and battling the Apocalypse triggered by the Harmonic Convergence, including an attempt to "move the moon".

'The Magicians' fans rejoice! We have a double feature awaiting us on Wednesday where the Apocalypse plotline will be front and center. A brief trailer has been released to tease some of the glorious scenes from the two upcoming episodes that will pull out all the stops when it comes to special effects.

While Eliot and Margo have been figuring out what's what in Fillory, the Apocalypse has not been waiting for anyone, as the Harmonic Convergence draws near. So we see Eliot and Margo rejoin the gang on earth to figure out how to escape the end of the world. The trailer shows Eliot clapping his hands to gather the group, saying, "Ok miscreants, it's Armageddon," as Margo, with frighteningly straight hair, lines up by his side looking smug and ready for battle.

In the next scene, we have Julia peering outside her window at the night sky with Alice, Penny, Kady, Josh, Eliot, and Margo gathered behind her as her voice tells us what is at stake. "In just a few days, a whole lot of people are going to die," she intones. Zelda had already given the solution to the Harmonic Convergence in the last episode -- "moving the moon". So when Margo says, "This is completely nuts," presumably responding to the moon-moving plan, we feel her.

The trailer then shows Eliot, Alice, Julia, and Kady holding the line and doing a spell to move the moon, while one of their gang (it is unclear who) has collapsed on the side. The gang is also shown trying another spell with complex hand gestures in the trailer.

In the biggest special effect of them all, we see a gigantic Cthulhu-sized octopus emerge from the seas and almost crush Eliot with one of its tentacles before the scene shifts back to Julia and the gang watching the night sky from which a gigantic fireball emerges and appears to fall on earth to obliterate it.

So get ready for Episode 5 and 6 of 'The Magicians' on February 12 from 9/8c on Syfy. The world might never be the same again.
