'The King: Eternal Monarch' Episode 5 will see how detective Jang Tae-eul (Kim Go-eun) from the Republic of Korea will adapt to traveling to a parallel universe and end up at the Kingdom of Corea. She had accepted Lee Gon's (Lee Min-ho) request to accompany her to his world because she had truly not believed any of his claims. She had assumed that there would be a logical explanation for everything that happened since Lee Gon's appearance in her life. However, shockingly enough, she has traversed into another universe and even meets someone who looks exactly like her friend Eun-seop back home.

In the upcoming episode, we see how Tae-eul adapts to a completely new world where everything that she knows of and everyone she knows do not exist. Initially, she tries to understand it all but the promo clearly shows Tae-eul point a gun at Lee Gon. She doesn't comprehend the fact that she is committing treason by attacking the king. In fact, she seems to forget the fact that he is the king. So when Yeong ends up trying to tell her to stop pointing the gun at Lee Gon, she gets more frustrated because somehow a man she has never met seems to know her.

She even asks in the promo, like a woman gone crazy, "Do you know me?" to every security personnel who attempts to stop her. Yeong doesn't seem to trust Tae-eul one bit, because he wonders aloud about what she had done to the king. Then there is Lee Gon, who seems to be enjoying every bit of Tae-eul's presence in his world. It serves two purpose for him. Firstly, he gets to prove that he was right in making all those claims that she had said were false. Secondly, he gets to spend more time with her. In fact, after seeing how absurd he is with her, Tae-eul tells him, "You haven't dated even once, have you Lee Gon?"

Tae-eul also meets Shin-jae's counterpart in Corea and seems to try and make his acquaintance. Everything seems quite pleasant as Tae-eul has also got a place to stay without worrying about material things like Lee Gon had to worry about. However, some switch seems to flip causing Tae-eul to freak out and get ready to pull the trigger while the gun is pointed at Lee Gon.

'The King: Eternal Monarch' is originally aired in South Korea on SBS at 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The show can be streamed on Netflix in the US.
