LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: ‘Teen Mom’ cast member Ashley Jones was angry with MTV after the show’s official Twitter account posted a tweet offering her condolences weeks after her brother’s death. The official Twitter account for the MTV series posted, “Our thoughts are with Ashley and her family during this difficult time.”

However, the 25-year-old did not seem to take the timing of the post kindly and immediately hit back. She was visibly frustrated and wanted the post to be deleted immediately, which it eventually was. Jones has had a difficult time of late, and this was not the first recent tragedy that has hit her and her family.

Ashley and her family were recently hit with the death of her brother Deandre. The 32-year-old Deandre Deandre was found dead on December 17 at a train station outside of San Francisco. The incident has not been a story in season 2 of the show, which premiered on January 2. Fans of the show seem to believe that the lack of a post during the last few weeks, coupled with the seemingly ‘convenient’ time at which the post was made might have been what irked Ashley.

After no comment on the situation for weeks, the ‘Teen Mom’ account posted the tweet merely days before the premiere of the new episode. Fans on Reddit seemed to sympathize with Ashley, whose husband Bar Smith was also arrested last year.

Fans on Reddit claimed that it was “trash and weird” of MTV to post about the situation weeks later. One user wrote, “Considering how quickly the show/page acknowledges other things going on in the lives of the other Teen Mom's, yeah, it's shitty of them to even acknowledge it at this point so I don't blame her or Bar.”

Some claimed that it was weird for MTV to wait so long and that they should have simply left it alone: “Im on their side. I thought it was weird to that they waited this long.” “Idk how to feel about this. I almost feel like it’s weird to post that at all considering he’s never been addressed on the show? Like when we found out he died most people were shocked she even had a brother. Maybe the mtv acct should have just commented we’re so sorry for your loss Ashley when she posted about it weeks ago. Idk”

Others sympathized with Ashley and claimed they would have felt the same way, “Almost a month? Yeah nah I’d feel the same way too.” Of course, Jones and her family have had a difficult few months.

In August 2022, her husband Bar Smith was arrested, a situation that Ashley also discussed on a recent episode of ‘Teen Mom: Family Reunion'. Jones was told by Bar that he was being extradited from Nevada to California, where they had previously lived. Ashley broke down in tears upon receiving the news and expressed her concern that the extradition could mean more time away from her husband. Needless to say, fans will be hoping that things take a turn for the better for Jones and her family.
