'The Good Place' fans miss the latest episode due to new time slot, but there was more to watch
'The Good Place' is back from its midseason hiatus, but not everyone got the chance to watch it live. Thanks to a change in the show's time slot. The eagerly awaited show aired half-an-hour earlier than expected, taking viewers by surprise and causing many to miss the episode.
"I totally forgot that The Good Place was at 8:30 tonight. Guess I'll have to stream it tomorrow," tweeted one saddened user.
Many fans are disappointed to have missed the series' return, especially after the last episode left on one Bad Place of a cliffhanger. "I waited like 3 weeks for the good place only to miss it watching jeopardy, I'm sad," wrote another user online.
One user sarcastically tweeted, "So very glad that my 20:57 reminder alarm to watch The Good Place allowed me to see the closing credits because NBC changed the air time!!"
Those who did see it, however, were in for quite a treat — and not just for the usual reasons of delightful humor and well-written moments with their favorite characters, but for something more. The Judge's (Maya Rudolph) admiration for 'Deadwood' star Timothy Olyphant has been brought up before. In a last-minute gambit to convince the Judge to delay the rebooting of all existence, Janet (D'Arcy Carden) creates a version of Timothy Olyphant himself in her void, which pleases the Judge more than enough to hear Team Cockroach out. The Judge wasn't the only one excited to see Timothy Olyphant there, however.
"Luckily the good place was recording because it was on a half an hour sooner than I thought, so I just finished it now but I can’t believe they actually brought Timothy Olyphant on. I truly screamed," said a fan.
Another fan lauded the show's decision to bring Olyphant on, saying, "I don't go there but whoever decided to get Timothy Olyphant to actually show up on the good place deserves a raise."
The next episode of 'The Good Place' airs on January 16, at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
